RESPONDING TEAM

- Delta 1 Rescue Diving

INCIDENT SUMMARY

Mpumalanga Inland Water Police (MIWP) and Delta 1 Rescue Diving received a call from SAPS 10111 regarding a body floating in the river at Embalenhle.

Delta 1 Rescue Diving responded to the incident, as MIWP members were attending to other duties at the time.

Upon arrival at the scene, Delta 1 Rescue members entered the river and successfully recovered the body of an unknown male from the water.

Following the recovery, the operation was concluded and the scene was handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation.

OUTCOME

The deceased was successfully recovered from the water.

An inquest has been opened by Embalenhle SAPS, and further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death is underway.

DELTA 1 RESCUE DIVING

Delta 1 Rescue Diving is looking for 3 × Qualified Commercial or Rescue / Standby Divers to join an upcoming 6-month onsite contract in the Mpumalanga area, with the possibility of extension.

POSITION DETAILS:

- Positions: 3 × Commercial or Rescue / Standby Divers
- Location: Mpumalanga
- Contract: 6 months
- Extension: Possible, depending on operational requirements
- Deployment: Onsite operation

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

- Valid commercial diving or Rescue diving qualifications
- Relevant commercial diving and/or standby diving experience
- Valid medical fitness certification
- Ability to work shifts and operate in a demanding industrial environment
- Strong discipline, teamwork and commitment to safety

IMPORTANT: Candidates must be prepared for onsite deployment and the operational demands of the contract.

Delta 1 Rescue Diving is proud to congratulate Chief Rudolph Uys on his appointment as Operations Manager – Middelburg.

Chief Uys brings valuable experience, leadership and operational expertise to the Delta 1 team. In his new role, he will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing Delta 1’s operational activities in the Middelburg area.

RESPONDING TEAMS

INCIDENT SUMMARY

Information was received on the above-mentioned date and time regarding a body floating in the Watervalrivier near Gate 8, Embalenhle.

Delta 1 Rescue Diving responded swiftly to the incident, with the assistance of N17 Emergency Response.

Upon arrival at the scene, Delta 1 Rescue members entered the river and successfully recovered the body of an unknown male from the water.

Following the recovery, the operation was concluded and the scene was handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation.

OUTCOME

The deceased was successfully recovered from the water.

An inquest has been opened by Embalenhle SAPS, and further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death is underway.
