Med-Evac Ambulance service is an ALS (ICU & NICU) accredited service based in Port Shepstone on the Kzn South Coast, launched in
2005

We are accredited to all Medical aids, Road accident fund and workmen compensation fund and the preferred provider to most medical aid administrators


We Specialize in the following:

Motor, school and sporting events

24 hour mobile intensive care transfers

24 hour neonatal intensive care transfers

24 hour high angle rope rescue and any aquatic rescue

24 hour house hold , sporting , work related and motor vehicle emergencies

Education - demonstrations/training at schools and companies

corporate wellness assesments

Our fleet:

2x response vehicles
5x Fully equipped ALS ambulances
2x 4x4 All-Terrain (1x Response 1x Ambulance)

SERIOUS MVA | HIBBERDENE

Med~Evac Ambulance Service responded this morning to a serious motor vehicle accident on the freeway near the Hibberdene southbound on-ramp.

On arrival, emergency personnel were met with a severely damaged minibus taxi and multiple occupants requiring assessment and treatment.
Sadly, one person sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased. Several patients sustained serious injuries, while others suffered minor injuries or were fortunate to escape without injury.

Multiple emergency and rescue services responded to the scene, with patients stabilised before being transported to various medical facilities for further treatment.

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision will be investigated by the relevant authorities.

Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the person who lost their life, as well as all those affected by this incident. We wish the injured patients strength in their recovery.

PLEASE SLOW DOWN ~ WET ROADS

The current weather is expected to carry on over the weekend. The heavy rainfall has left roads across the South Coast wet and dangerously slippery, with reduced visibility and an increased risk of vehicles losing control.

Med~Evac has already attended several accidents, including two this morning:

• An Isuzu bakkie left the P200 Izotsha near Riversmead, resulting in injuries to the driver and a nine-year-old girl.
• A second accident occurred on the N2 near Umzumbe.

We appeal to all motorists to please adjust their driving to the conditions:

🚗 Reduce your speed
↔️ Increase your following distance
💡 Switch on your headlights
📵 Avoid distractions
🌊 Be alert for standing water and possible aquaplaning
🚨 Approach accident scenes and emergency vehicles with caution

Please do not take unnecessary chances. Arriving a few minutes later is far better than not arriving safely.

Take it easy on the roads, remain alert and help us prevent further accidents.

VEHICLE ROLLOVER | ORIBI GORGE, PADDOCK
Med~Evac responded to a vehicle rollover near Oribi Gorge in the Paddock area.
It is alleged that the driver lost control while negotiating a bend, causing the vehicle to roll and come to rest on its roof.
Fortunately, all six occupants escaped without serious injury.
We urge motorists to remain cautious, reduce speed when approaching bends and always drive according to the road conditions.
