A clean environment is part of a healthy community. 🌿

The way I manage my waste can affect the spaces around me and the people who live in them.

When I dispose of waste responsibly, avoid littering and keep my surroundings clean, I help create healthier places for everyone.

My choices matter. My environment matters. My health matters.

From the desk of the Executive Mayor

Dear Matriculants of the Cape Winelands District,

As you stand on the threshold of your final examinations, I extend my warmest and most heartfelt wishes for your success.

Your Matric year is a profound milestone—a culmination of years of dedication, perseverance, and remarkable personal growth. The examinations ahead do not just mark the end of your school journey; they represent the gateway to a vibrant new chapter filled with endless possibilities and dreams waiting to be realised.
As you enter this final stretch, I urge you to stay focused and believe in your potential. Trust in the preparation you have put in, remain disciplined, and approach every paper with the determination to give your absolute best. When the pressure feels overwhelming, take a moment to look back and remember how far you have already come. The challenges you face are not barriers; they are opportunities to discover your true strength and resilience.

Approach each day with a calm mind. Take it one subject, one paper, and one step at a time.

The Cape Winelands District is immensely proud of you, and we are rooting for your success every step of the way. May you walk into your examination halls with confidence and leave knowing you have given your all.

Believe in yourself, trust your abilities, and embrace the bright future you can create. May your hard work be justly rewarded, and may your results open the doors to the extraordinary opportunities you deserve.

Wishing you the very best of luck.
Ald. (Dr.) Elna von Schlicht

Be Seen, Be Safe

"Right, left and right again!" "Stop, look, listen, think" "Always tell someone where you are going - and when you will be back" " where light-coloured clothing" "Never go swimming alone"

The grade R - 6 learners at Stockwell Primary outside Ashton enjoyed an hour of leaning about Road Safety, Fire Awareness and Summer Safety presented by representatives from CWDM's Disaster Management, WC Western Cape Government's Mobility and the Langeberg Municipality's Fire and Traffic Services. And of course, no visit to a school is complete without Lenny the Leopard and Danie Kat who together with CWDM's Technical Services handed out reflective caps to help make sure our kids are seen by drivers and protected from the summer sun!
