10 years of loving and being loved
How privileged, honoured and immensely lucky are we?

Happy birthday Odin

Carl our little blue-eyed boy is 10 years old!
From looking like a lamb, with curly hair and blood coming from his tear ducts, concussed and with an abcess in his jaw, he is now this!

Our fabulous, magnificent, loving, regal, mighty Carl

You will see a photo in this video when he was first introduced to Mela. He was just a cub, but a feisty one.
They live happily together and rule over the sanctuary like the royalty they were always meant to be.

Ethical sanctuaries offer lions like Carl a second chance. No lion should be bred in captivity or kept as a pet (as Carl was), but for those lions already bred, there is a chance of a life lived in safety, health, and dignity.

It is not easy to see Phoenix in his enclosure here at Love Lions Alive Sanctuary.
Sometimes I can sit for hours and not see him.
Othertimes, like here, I see glimpses of him here, then there, then here. As if he drifts in and out of invisibility.

(Phoenix is a puma/cougar/mountain lion)
