🚨 CALLING ALL SPIRITUAL LEADERS 🚨
Crime, substance abuse, gender-based violence, poverty, and unemployment are devastating our communities at unprecedented levels.
The SAPS Spiritual Crime Prevention Forum is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at mobilising spiritual leaders and faith-based organisations to become active partners in reducing crime and restoring hope in society.
We believe that spiritual leaders have a vital role to play, not only through prayer, but through practical and proactive community engagement.
🙏 Prayer is powerful.
🤝 But prayer combined with action transforms communities.
We therefore call on all pastors, imams, priests, bishops, chaplains, ministry leaders, and spiritual organisations to get involved or send a representative to be part of this important movement.
Together, we can help build safer, stronger, and more united communities.
Kind regards
Malcolm Nair
SCPF Chairperson

Excellent work ET Rapid Response
ET RAPID RESPONSE OFFICER APPREHENDS ARMED SUSPECT FOLLOWING ALLEGED BLUFF SHOOTING INCIDENT:
Date: 16 May 2026
Area: Bluff, KZN.
An ET Rapid Response officer was travelling along Tara Road during the early hours of Saturday morning when multiple gunshots were heard in the vicinity of Beach Road and Tara Road.
The member stopped on the corner of Cluver Crescent and Tara Road to assess the situation. Moments later, a blue Toyota Hilux was observed travelling south on Tara Road at a high rate of speed.
A member of the public immediately informed the ET Rapid Response officer that the driver of the blue Toyota Hilux had allegedly discharged a firearm at another vehicle, believed to be a Toyota Land Cruiser.
Acting swiftly, the ET member initiated pursuit of the suspect vehicle.
During the pursuit, the driver of the Hilux allegedly drove recklessly, travelling at excessive speeds, overtaking motorists dangerously and failing to stop at red traffic signals.
The ET member managed to catch up and intercept the suspect vehicle.
The suspect was successfully detained, handcuffed and disarmed. The firearm in his possession was secured to ensure public and officer safety.
Members of Brighton Beach SAPS arrived shortly thereafter and assumed control of the scene, with additional SAPS units and private security personnel responding. The driver of the Toyota Land Cruiser was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital for further care.
The incident remains subject to further SAPS investigation.
ET Rapid Response commends the swift actions taken by all responding role players in ensuring the safety of the public and preventing a potentially more serious outcome.
