ONE PERSON INJURED BY HIPPO AT LORRAINE VILLAGE, GA-SEKORORO

GA-SEKORORO – One person was rushed to hospital after being injured by a hippopotamus at Lorraine Village in Ga-Sekororo on Monday.

According to reports, community members gathered in large numbers after two hippos were spotted in a dam at a farm in Ga-Matjanka, near Lorraine Village. During the incident, one individual was attacked and sustained injuries.

The hippos are reportedly still in the water, while community members are calling on wildlife authorities to intervene and carry out their duties to ensure public safety. Some residents have also appealed for permission to harvest the animals, citing safety concerns.

Authorities are expected to assess the situation and provide guidance as efforts continue to prevent further injuries.
