Hi there 👋,
Im often asked how the name "Little Fox" came about, and its never really a quick or simple tale. It has a long history starting from when I got engaged to my now husband.
Back then, I was notorious for going home with one of his hoodies or a jersey. And I was always buying him interesting deodorants or colognes. He of course wondered if I was trying to tell him something regarding his hygiene, but since the man showers no less than twice a day, there was never any issue....in fact he didnt have any kind of scent at all. His clothes barely even had any scent too.
In conversation, and explaining this to him, he noted that I didnt either and that he thought this was normal. Okaaaay...that is until we watched a National Geographic documentary about Foxes...
Foxes pair for life, and choose their life partners based on scent. They need to smell the same or very similar in order to know if there has has been an intuder into their shared den. 🤔
Ah. Perfect! We were two foxes in love, and destined to be together forever! ❤
Fast forward to our wedding, and foxes featured as our wedding toppers. It was a bit of an inside thing between us but those who cared to know why, found it heartwarming.
Then, with our firstborn son, I was surprised with a fox themed baby shower. And so he became our "Little Fox".
The business was born from a need to take care of him as both my husband and I had been hard-hit by Covid. I lost my business, and he struggled to re-enter the workplace after taking our little ones first year off to be a full time supportive husband and Dad.
So Little Fox Artisan, is my legacy for our son. Every jar of jam or brown sauce, every bag of granola, every label design etc is done with him in mind. Being able to take care of him well enough that even though, as a family, we are really struggling to get back on our feet, I dont need to ask anyone to help me buy him new clothes, nappies or anything else he might need.
As a little business, its kept my phone on, fuel in the car and some flexibility to buy ingredients in bulk. Its still small...its still learning to walk. But Im grateful for all that it is and has become.
