The Constitutional Court's ruling that allows for the reinstatement of 181 ANC candidates to contest the local government elections, following the Electoral Court's initial ruling against it, is strange and problematic.

The Freedom Front Plus (VF Plus) wants to make it clear that even though the party does not agree with and may criticise a ruling by the country's highest court, it certainly does not mean that the party lacks respect for the judiciary.

Die konstitusionele hof se uitspraak om 181 kandidate van die ANC toe te laat om wel aan die plaaslike regeringsverkiesing deel te neem nadat die kieshof aanvanklik daarteen beslis het, is vreemd en problematies.

Die VF Plus wil dit nogtans duidelik stel dat sy meningsverskil en kritiek op ‘n uitspraak van die hoogste hof in die land geensins beteken dat daar by die party 'n gebrek aan respek vir die regbank bestaan nie.
