UPDATE ON JACOBSBAAI WATER WORKS: Monday, 02 November 2026 @ 20:55

Dear Residents,

Please be advised that, due to unforeseen technical challenges, the work on the main water pipeline supplying Jacobsbaai could not be completed within the anticipated timeframe.

Saldanha Bay Municipality's teams are continuing with the necessary work, and every effort is being made to finalise the repairs and restore the water supply as soon as possible.

The Municipality sincerely apologises for the extended disruption and inconvenience caused and appreciates residents' patience and understanding while the teams work to resolve the matter.

Kindly note that the Saldanha Bay Municipality is concluding its work on the main water pipeline supplying water to Jacobsbaai and endeavours to be completed at 19:00. Water supply will be restored, as soon as the works involved are completed.

The existing road providing access to Gonnamanskraal and Die Weskus Plek is currently an informal access road. A new formal access road has been planned and is presently under construction.
The main water pipeline supplying Jacobsbaai runs beneath the proposed road. To accommodate the construction of the new road and ensure adequate protection of the pipeline, the existing water main needs to be lowered to a suitable depth.

A water tanker will be on standby during this period. For assistance and/or enquiries, contact the 24-hour Call Centre on 022 701 7061/6974.
