ABAQULUSI MUNICIPAL MANAGER, MS SBONGA DLAMINI, TAKES WOMEN’S SAFETY AND EMPOWERMENT TO KWAGWEBU, WARD 12

Day 3 of the women’s empowerment ward visits saw AbaQulusi Municipal Manager, Ms Sbonga Dlamini, joined by Ms Slindile Mthimkhulu, Chairperson of the Zululand District Women’s Sector and Convener of the KZN GBVF Council, engaging with the women of Gwebu, Ward 12.

In the fight against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF), women received safety packs for protection, alongside seedlings and plants to encourage growth and self-sustainability.

With GBVF cases continuing to rise and communities crying out for justice, this initiative was warmly welcomed as a meaningful step towards empowering, protecting and uplifting women.

PLANNED TEMPORARY ELECTRICITY SUPPLY INTERRUPTION FOR POLE REPLACEMENT

Dear Vryheid Residents,

Please be advised that a planned electricity supply interruption will take place tomorrow, 14 October 2026, to replace a pole and reinstall JNPs on the same line.

Affected areas:
* Zailagte
* Eensgevonden
* Muloro
* Landbou Hoërskool
* Aanstoot farms

Municipal technicians will isolate the line at 08:30 AM. The work is expected to take approximately five (5) hours, with electricity supply estimated to be restored by 13:30, subject to the progress of the work.

Residents are advised to treat all electrical connections, appliances and installations as live during the interruption, as electricity may be restored without prior notice.
