𝟮𝟴 𝗩𝗢𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗘𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗦 𝗗𝗘𝗣𝗟𝗢𝗬𝗘𝗗 𝗔𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗗 𝗢𝗙 𝗔𝗨𝗚𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝟭𝟯 𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗟 𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦

Twenty-eight (28) Voter Education Facilitators (VEFs) have been deployed to conduct voter education activities across the district ahead of the August 13 General Elections.

The facilitators recently underwent a five-day training programme aimed at equipping them with the knowledge and skills required to effectively educate citizens on the electoral process, voter rights and responsibilities, and the importance of participating in the elections

The deployment of the VEFs underscores the commitment to ensuring that voters are well-informed and prepared to make informed choices during the forthcoming elections.

Through community outreach activities, the facilitators will provide accurate electoral information and promote peaceful and active participation in the electoral process.

𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗞𝗔𝗡𝗞𝗔𝗧𝗔 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗧 𝗦𝗘𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗣𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗢 𝗩𝗔𝗖𝗖𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗢𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗥𝗢𝗪!

Chikankata District is set to commence the second round of the polio vaccination (NOPV2) campaign, to run from Tuesday, 2nd June to Friday, 5th June, 2026.

This Polio Vaccination campaign is targeting children under the age of five as part of ongoing efforts to safeguard communities against the virus.

The campaign is aimed at protecting children from the highly infectious disease, which primarily affects young children and can lead to lifelong paralysis if not prevented.

The vaccination will be conducted through health facilities and outreach programmes across the district, with health workers expected to move within communities to ensure that every eligible child is reached.

Parents and guardians are therefore being encouraged to present their children for the life-saving vaccine, as immunisation remains the most effective way to stop the spread of polio and protect communities.

A five-day training for Voter Education Facilitators has commenced in Chikankata District ahead of the forthcoming general elections, aimed at equipping the facilitators with knowledge and skills needed to effectively conduct voter education activities in communities.

The training is focusing on electoral procedures, voter rights and responsibilities, communication skills, conflict management, and the importance of promoting peaceful and credible elections.

The facilitators are expected to play a key role in sensitizing members of the public on the electoral process and encouraging informed and active participation in the forthcoming general elections.
