On my birthday today, I took time to appreciate our great Commandant President Fidel Castro and his sacrifices to liberate the African continent through various forms of struggle and solidarity.
As he said: “No true revolution is possible without the support of the people." Support the People’s Pact today.
After failing to FIX the mealie meal price to K50 as he promised, lelo ati Salt Sana - let’s not allow to be cheated again. Aleya.
ECZ, WHAT DID YOU INTEND TO DO WITH THE EXCESS 1,788,405 BETWEEN ANNOUNCED AND ACTUAL FIGURES OF REGISTERED VOTERS?
Chishala Kateka – President, New Heritage Party
10 January 2026
The New Heritage Party has, since the last election, been issuing concern and caution, to the nation, with regard to the composition of the Electoral Commission of Zambia and its unlikely ability to deliver transparent, credible, free and fair elections.
We have issued statements, written to the Zambia Centre for Inter Party Dialogue, written to the Minister of Justice and had a meeting with ECZ itself. These efforts have not availed any positive results.
I am now alerting Zambians to the fact that ECZ is compromised and will not be able to conduct a transparent, credible, free and fair election.
At tables 5 and 6: Provisional Figure of Total Registered Voters, on page 6 of the Update on Final Statistics of the Mass Registration of Voters speech by the CEO of ECZ, Mr. Brown Kasaro, a figure of 8,861,918 was reported as being Total Registered Voters. As a result, Opposition and the public, have been basing calculations on this figure. A case in point being the very informative Muhabi Lungu articles.
Tucked away on the ECZ Website is a very detailed document entitled ‘Registered Voters Per Polling Station’. The total number of registered voters here, is only 7,073,513!!
Granted, the figure in the speech by the CEO was “provisional”, however a differential of 1,788,405 in the number of registered voters, a significant and whopping 25.28% variance from the actual, surely should be a cause of concern to any perceptive person even if not savvy with statistics.
New Heritage Party now asks:
1. What is the explanation of such a large differential of 1,788,405 between announced and actual figures?
2. Why has Mr. Kasaro not come forward to indicate to the nation that this significant 25.28% differential exists? The fact surely has not escaped him that people are relying on his earlier erroneous figures.
3. At what point, if at all, was he going to do so?
4. If Opposition did not become aware of this audacious differential, what did ECZ intend to do with it? Claim another hollow landslide victory?
Opposition, there is a very great need to focus on the real systemic threat to the issue of pooling resources to defend the democracy in our nation. We can only do this by being alert, defending our vote and working together. Those in power will not stop at anything to steal the vote. As we stated before, elections are won way way before elections and we now need to begin dismantling the web that they have spun. We certainly will not do so while we are so divided and quibbling about who becomes president – for if we continue on this trajectory, none of us shall succeed.
Elections will be lost before even the first ballot is cast. How was Opposition going to undo a 1,788,405 head-start?
Over the last 4 years, more Zambian citizens have gone to jail over freedom of expression than we have seen since independence.

BREAKING NEWS:
Burkina Faso's revolutionary leader, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has arrived in Mali for the second session of the College of Heads of State of the Alliance of Sahel States in Bamako, scheduled for Tuesday.
Upon arrival, Traoré was welcomed by his Malian counterpart, General Assimi Goïta, at the airport. Burkina Faso's presidency reports that Traoré received a military salute on the tarmac before holding a brief meeting with Goïta and Niger's leader, Abdourahamane Tiani, at the presidential lounge.
This visit comes at a time when Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger have united to defend the Sahel region against neocolonialism and imperialism. The three nations are standing against the use of Nigeria as a proxy by foreign powers to maintain neocolonial interests in Africa. Tensions have escalated following a recent bombing of the Benin Republic by Nigeria, reportedly after a phone call between Nigeria's President Tinubu and French President Macron. This followed the arrest of Nigerian fighter jet mercenaries who violated Burkina Faso’s airspace. Captain Traoré condemned the airspace violation as "unfriendly" and "dangerous."

UPND MAY HAVE WON BILL 7, BUT THEY WILL LOSE THE WAR IN 2026
Socialist Party President, Dr Fred M’membe, has charged that while the UPND may have won the battle through the passage of Bill 7, they will ultimately lose the war in the 2026 general elections.
Dr M’membe said 2026 presents a historic opportunity for the people of Zambia to liberate themselves by voting for real and genuine change that puts the interests of the majority first. He emphasized that political power must return to the people and be used to serve the common good, not narrow political or personal interests.
He urged all well-meaning opposition political parties to rise above personal ambitions and place the national agenda at the centre of their political engagement. According to Dr M’membe, Zambians are looking to the opposition for unity of purpose and a shared commitment to national interests, not fragmented efforts driven by individual egos.
Dr M’membe noted that history shows that removing the UNIP government was easier than the task that lies ahead in removing the UPND in 2026, making unity, discipline, and strategic cooperation among opposition forces more critical than ever before.
He concluded by stressing the importance of national unity as the country moves towards the 2026 general elections, calling on all progressive forces to work together in the interest of Zambia and its people.

U S delays health funding for Zambia 🇿🇲 until mining deal is agreed
The United States has postponed a major health funding agreement with Zambia. The release of $1.5 billion will depend on progress in negotiations on mining cooperation.
The agreement, intended to support Zambia’s health system, was scheduled for signing in December but has been put on hold. The U.S. has linked the funding to mining and business discussions, making the release of health resources contingent on reaching an agreement.
Negotiations are ongoing, and the outcome remains uncertain

NATUFWANE MUKWAI!
In the same way UPND praise singers and Mr Hakainde Hichilema expect everyone to condemn what happened in Chingola, is the same way that they should condemn their cadres when they attack any opposition leader. Their cadres have attacked opposition so many times and they were NDWII!. Mr Hichilema’s life is as precious as the life of all Zambians including opposition leaders!

WE DENOUNCE USA DOUBLE STANDARDS AND LET US PRAY FOR VENEZUELA.
VENEZUELA says it has captured CIA spies attempting to spark a US invasion – amid spiralling relations between Washington and Caracas. Venezuela hasn't publicly vowed to respond with specific missiles against a potential US invasion. However, Venezuela's military capabilities include:
- *S-300VM SAM systems*: Purchased from Russia, these systems provide advanced air defense capabilities.
- *S-125 Pechora-2M SAM systems*: Modernized versions of the Soviet-era S-125 systems.
- *Buk-M2E SAM systems*: Advanced medium-range surface-to-air missile systems.
- *S-300V4 systems*: Long-range surface-to-air missile systems.
It's worth noting that the US and Venezuela have had heightened tensions, particularly under the Trump administration, with the US imposing sanctions and accusing Venezuela's government of narco-trafficking and human rights abuses. Venezuela has denounced these actions as attempts to destabilize the country.
Tell Hakainde's gorilla media Koswe & Zambian Watchdog that the SP Leadership remains intact.
