Zambia Secures $2 Billion in Strategic MoUs Across Key Sectors

The government has signed 12 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with various companies, valued at over 2 billion United States dollars.
Signed during the Invest in Zambia International Conference held in Lusaka, the MoUs span several key sectors, including Electric Vehicles, Livestock (Artificial Reproductive Technologies), Energy, Tourism, and Mining, among others.
The agreements were signed by Ministers and Chief Executive Officers from relevant government agencies. Notable MoUs include:
Ministry of Green Economy and EVC Investment Limited in the Electric Vehicle sector.
Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock and Glosta Sciences Management FZCO for Artificial Assisted Reproductive Technologies to improve livestock productivity.
ZESCO and Power China for the development of 100 Megawatts under phase two of the Chisamba Solar Project.
Another agreement between ZESCO and Anzana Electric.
Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) and Power China for the development of a Cassava Industrial Hub.
IDC and Fujan for the Ndola Refinery Project.
Zambia Tourism Agency (ZTA) and the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) for satellite television and digital campaign services.
ZTA and Expedia for digital destination marketing and awareness campaigns.
Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) and the Zambia Association of Manufacturers to facilitate investment, trade, and business development for Zambian exporters.
ZDA and Sinomach Hainan Development Company for an Agricultural Special Economic Zone.
ZDA and Sanny Group Limited for phased implementation of integrated “Microgrid + Green Mining Equipment” solutions in Zambia’s mining sector.
UMOYO and Grusom Wellness SDN BHD signed an agreement for wellness innovation.
