BUSA WATER SCHEME TRANSFORMS HEALTHCARE AND IMPROVES LIVES IN LUANO DISTRICT
The completion of the Busa Rural Health Post Water Scheme has brought lasting benefits to both the health facility and the surrounding community, marking a significant milestone in improving access to essential services in Luano District.
With a reliable supply of clean and safe water now available at the health post, healthcare workers are better equipped to maintain high standards of hygiene and infection prevention and control. The water scheme supported by UNICEF and NEWZA WASH project has enhanced sanitation, supported safer maternal and child health services, and improved the overall quality of healthcare delivery at the facility.
Beyond the health post, the project has positively impacted the lives of community members by providing easier access to safe drinking water. Residents no longer have to travel long distances in search of water, saving valuable time and reducing the burden on households. Access to clean water is also helping to reduce the prevalence of waterborne diseases and promote better hygiene practices.
