MSONI WORRIED ABOUT HH'S STATEMENT ON CHIEFS
ALL People’s Party President, Nasson Msoni, has cautioned Republican President, Hakainde Hichilema, not to brew confusion among traditional leaders.
Msoni says he has been taken aback by sentiments by Hichilema to the effect that all traditional leaders across the country will be treated the same and with equity.
He states that the President should be clear that there is an existing hierarchy in Traditional hierarchy where Paramount Chiefs receive greater treatment, while still maintaining respect for ordinary Chiefs.
Msoni submits that in as much as there has been inconsistences in policy on traditional leaders from subsequent governments, the common denominator has been that Paramount Chiefs have always received greater treatment.
He has urged Politicians not to temper with traditional hierarchy in their pursuit for sinister agendas, stating that one cannot equate the King in Western Province to a Chief.
Msoni says doing so would amount to planting problems where they do not exist.
During his recent meeting with some Chiefs across the country at State House, President Hichilema indicated that no traditional leader will be given preferential or special treatment above the other.

CIFIRE, NKHOMA’S REMARKS SHOULD HELP HICHILEMA REMAKE APPOINTMENTS TO REFLECT NATIONAL IDENTITY – MSONI
Angela Cifire and Noel Nkhoma’s views should help Hakainde Hichilema remake his appointments to reflect national character, says All Peoples Congress (APC) Nason Msoni.
Reacting to Ben Phiri’s assertions that Development Bank of Zambia (DBZ) chairperson Nkhoma that he should be thankful for his appointment after the latter supported former Health minister Cifire’s remarks on the tribal appointments skewed towards Southern, Western, North Western and parts of Central Province despite his promises to unite the country and despite Zambians having rejected tribalism by voting for him to the extent of winning in some places and receiving significant votes in areas other than those he is appointing heavily from, Msoni stated that the question of some regions being excluded is real and go beyond playing to the gallery.
“Dea Editor, I have keenly followed the debate on the statements attributed to Ms Angela Chifire , Mr. Noel Nkhoma and Mr Ben Phiri. I must add that the question of regions being excluded is real and go beyond playing to the gallery,” Msoni stated. “To deny the obvious in order to be noticed by the appointing authority on an important issue like this one is most unfortunate under the circumstances.”
He stated that Cifire and Nkhoma’s statements are progressive and should help the President to remake some of the appointments to reflect the national character of our country.
“The unity we talk about revolves around the collective sharing of responsibilities. Unilateralism and the general exclusion of other regions is clearly a recipe for social and political instability,” Msoni stated. “I encourage leaders to be more objective in their personal and political pursuit. It is ok for individuals to aspire for an appointment to government but it should not be at the expense of everyone else...https://dailyrevelationzambia.com/cifire-nkhomas-remarks-should-help-hichilema-remake-appointments-to-reflect-national-identity-msoni/

TRIBALISM IN ZAMBIA POLICE
By Dr Fred M'membe
There is a need for Mr Hakainde Hichilema to explain why Zambia Police key command positions at all levels and in all departments or units are predominantly occupied by people from one ethnicity and related ethnicities almost to the exclusion of all others.
Is it by pure merit or coincidence that:

These are the key positions in Zambia Police.
Like Deputy Inspector General Siandenge, some of these officers were part of the UPND security team. Two of Deputy Inspector General Siandenge’s brothers are in charge of the two striking police units – paramilitary and mobile units.
Where does this staffing of the police leave the opposition when it comes to policing politics and elections? Would Mr Hichilema keep quiet and accept this if he was in opposition?
These are honest questions seeking honest answers.

HICHILEMA IS NOT FIT TO HOLD OFFICE, CHARGES MSONI
He writes:
ZAMBIANS WILL CERTAINLY NEVER THANK MR HICHILEMA FOR WORKING HARD TO DIVIDE OUR COUNTRY
We should all be deeply concerned about the calculated conduct of this President to willfully malign and segment the Country through the reckless appointment of individuals on the basis of regions.
“you cannot fix a broken society with such unyielding and glaring impunity “
Our relentless counsel to him on the need for inclusivity in his appointments to government positions continue to be spurned with enhanced regional appointments.
In the end, he will certainly pay a heavy price.
It is a missed opportunity for Mr. Hichilema to prove that he was not who the majority Zambians had thought he was, on previously being rejected five times through the ballot.
Given his continued conduct it is now apparent for all to see that the man is unfit to hold the office of president of the republic of Zambia.

HICHILEMA WILL PAY A HEAVY PRICE - MSONI
By New Dawn Reporter
PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema is on a crusade to divide the country on regional basis through his appointments, All Peoples Congress (APC) president Nason Msoni has charged.
Msoni has since urged Zambians to wake up and speak against what he terms regional appointments benefiting only three regions.
He says Zambians will certainly never thank President Hichilema's quest for working so hard to devide the country.
"We should all be deeply concerned about the calculated conduct of this President to willfully malign and segment the Country through the reckless appointment of individuals on the basis of regions," he said.
Msoni says President Hichilema cannot fix a broken society by peddling regionalism in his appointments with glaring impunity.
“ you cannot fix a broken society with such unyielding and glaring impunity. Our relentless counsel to him on the need for inclusivity in his appointments to government positions continue to be spurned with enhanced regional appointments," Msoni who is still in the UPND-Alliance has said.
He warns that President Hichilema will soon pay heavily for his mischievous appointments which are not imclusive.
Msoni says President Hichilema has proved not to be the person he said he was during his campaigns in 2021 general elections.
"In the end, he will certainly pay a heavy price. It is a missed opportunity for Mr. Hichilema to prove that he was not who the majority Zambians had thought he was, on previously being rejected five times through the ballot."
He further says, President Hichilema was not fit to hold the office of the President.
"Given his continued conduct it is now apparent for all to see that the man is unfit to hold the office of president of the republic of Zambia," said Msoni.

EASTERNERS GIVEN A RAW DEAL IN PRESIDENT HICHILEMA’S GOVT
…as Msoni urges President Hakainde Hichilema to apologise for short-circuiting and neglecting Easterners
By New Dawn Reporter
PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema should take his two- day working visit in Eastern Province to explain why he has decided to give Easterners a raw deal in his government, All Peoples Congress (APC) UPND alliance partner leader Nason Msoni has demanded.
And Msoni has urged President Hichilema to explain why Eastern Province should support and believe in him after failing the agriculture sector which he promised to be an economic engine of Zambia if elected prior to 2021 general elections.
In unsolicited interview, Msoni noted with sadness how the UPND government has excluded Easterners in most decision-making positions and hoped that President Hichilema as he meets people and traditional leaders in the province, would be able to explain why he had left out easterners in his administration.
“We hope the President can use this trip to go and apologize to Easterners for maligning them in his government. The representation in this UPND government, it is at its lowest in-terms of representation compared to other regions. Whether it is at Permanent secretary level, whether it is at diplomatic service level, very few Easterners have been appointed. Despite the fact that Easterners gave Mr. Hichilema 49 percent of votes against former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu’s 50 percent votes,” he said.
Msoni observed that unlike in 1991 when Easterners remained behind with UNIP when other regions moved with the change, the 2021 general election reflected how willing the people of Eastern Province supported Mr. Hichilema who has now damped them.
He explained that Zambians and Easterners were assured that the nation will remain united but sadly, the country is divided across region looking at the appointments he has made so far both at Ministerial, Permanent Secretary level and diplomatic service level.
“All this happened because Easterners were persuaded firstly by the demand for regime change messages, secondly, Easterners and those that campaigned for him were able to convince Easterners to be part of the regime change for equity, peace and unity. And that they should not remain behind when the country needed that change to a new regime and people from Eastern Province bought into that massage and in that massage for unity, they were assured that this country will remain united and that is the change that we thought which should have reflected a national character because all regions were resolved to change government for the better,” Msoni said.
He said Easterners have been given a raw deal, a deal which is not worth their input in the 2021 general elections.
“But sadly, look at what transpired after the change, look at the character and kind of government that President Hakainde has, clearly it has excluded Easterners, more people from Eastern Province believe that Easterners have had a raw deal from President Hichilema. Easterners have a raw deal in the New Dawn government, and we hope he will use this period he is in the province to go and explain the disparities and the exclusion of Easterners from his government and what he is trying to achieve by doing that. Easterners want to know whether what he is doing by leaving out our people in his government is the way he will say thank you to you Easterners for voting for me,” he said.
And Msoni has urged President Hichilema to take time and explain his failures to distribute inputs as promised.
He said President Hichilema must realise that what people got is not what they had bargained for.
“I want to tell out President, President Hakainde Hichilema that as he is in Eastern Province, he should use his two days working period to apologize to the people of Eastern Province. Firstly, for the mishandled and botched 2022-2023 agriculture season, nkani ya fataleza was poorly done and handled by his government and a lot of people will suffer serious consequences or hunger because of the way government mishandled the distribution of inputs. And a lot of people in protest, have clearly grown other crops which means that they will be less food for the province.
And this is coming as a result of the poor handling and management of the distribution of input, people were not given inputs despite paying for them, and those that were luck to receive, got only a meda. Going forward we urge him to assure Easterners that the coming agriculture season will be handled differently and these are the issues our people will be waiting to hear from him. It is not a secret that most of our people in the province feel that they have been neglected by this regime they fought so hard for, which was not fashionable to do. The distribution of inputs was a disaster and citizens everywhere else got less than what they had bargained for. They did not get what they had been promised for by President Hichilema compared to other regions who got something, our people did not receive adequate inputs they had paid for,” said Msoni.
Msoni who is in the UPND alliance has been a serious critic of President Hakainde Hichilema and his government.
He has criticized President Hichilema on the dwindling democratic tenets in the country as well as the abuse of police and state machinery against the opposition and the general populace.

WHY SO MANY FATAL ACCIDENT ALL OF A SUDDEN THE? NASON MSONI
The urgency of now should be to examine the root causes of the carnage on the Zambian roads.
Arguably, the number of fatalities has reached unprecedented levels requiring intervention by way of probing and inquiring on the circumstances leading to such increased numbers of fatalities.
The need to inquire and make such recommendation is imperative. The need to further examine and identify the causes and make such recommendations as is necessary on how to reduce on the rising numbers of carnage on the Zambian roads is absolutely important.
Undeniably at the centre of all these accidents are mostly foreign trucks and a few notable local ones.
It might be of great benefit for government and indeed to the general public for a commission of inquiry to be constituted and inquire into the circumstances that are particularly causing these unprecedented accidents and come up with actionable recommendations that will prompt the Police and the appropriate road agency (Ratsa) to take appropriate corrective action.
