The first Waste pickers and plastic pollution Symposium. Glad to have exhibited our community solutions towards plastic pollution.
We do hope the ideas shared will be actualized and be given attention with the seriousness it deserves.
As our consumptions increase so does our waste.
We need better waste management mechanisms for plastics in our land fills/Dump sites.
Thanks to Citizens Environmental and Social Concern- CESCo and partners for organising.

Gown of Hope & Alliance for World Change successfully conducted an Environmental Awareness & Tree Planting Exercise at Kasamba Combined School in Matero.
The environmental program has been designed as a means of conserving our environment and restoring our ecosystems with particular emphasis to schools and communities around them. The program has among; is tree planting, Recycling and environmental education
We believe Tree planting is a practical way of introducing and integrating Environmental Education in schools. schools within the district and outside will also be mobilized.
The most appropriate and sustainable solution is to support and encourage schools to establish their own trees. Working with schools in terms of tree planting is that they are a permanent institution with adequate land labor and management capacity from the Heads of the schools.
The event was graced by Hon. C. Nzovu, of Green Economy & Environment, Hon. Miles Sampa, MP, Councilor Chinyanta & numerous invited guests.
Trees planted included Mexican Apples, Moringa and Mulberry. Pupils, teachers & the community as a whole will enjoy benefits of the fruits from this exercise while the Environment will benefit too.
We also Donated a Bin for the school so that they could continue to keep the school clean.
