Good morning. According to Romans 2:4, '...for it is the goodness of God that leads to repentance.' The term 'repentance' is interpreted as 'change.' Comprehending God's goodness has a transformative effect on individuals. When problems intersect with God's goodness, they are altered inevitably. The goodness of God has the power to transform everything. Blessed month and week ahead.

FRIDAY

A Milestone for Justice: NFSBD Concludes Intensive Forensic DNA Training with Moot Court Trial.

On 21st and 22nd May 2026, NFSBD successfully hosted a Moot Trial Court at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre. This realistic courtroom simulation served as the culminating exercise for four forensic scientists who completed an intensive, two-year, in‑house training programme focused on Forensic DNA Analysis and Serology for Fluid Identification. Following their completion, the country now has at least five specialists in forensic DNA analysis—a notable accomplishment that greatly improves the ability to present and interpret forensic DNA evidence in judicial proceedings.

To guarantee the highest quality of practical training, the high‑profile courtroom simulation was presided over by distinguished judicial officers, including Hon. Judge Vincent Siloka, Hon. Judge Mutebi Mirriam Bah‑Matandala, and Hon. Idah Phiri‑Mupemo. The exercise mirrored real‑world legal proceedings, with two advocates from the National Prosecution Authority (NPA) acting for the State and two from the Legal Aid Board representing the defence. This experience offered an exceptional platform for hands‑on learning, courtroom role‑play, and narrowing the gap between scientific analysis and courtroom testimony, thereby fostering stronger collaboration between forensic experts and the justice system.

In celebrating this achievement, NFSBD extends its heartfelt gratitude to all partners whose support made the intensive training and moot court possible. The Department deeply appreciates the collaboration and participation of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security (MOHAIS), the Judiciary, the National Prosecution Authority (NPA), and the Legal Aid Board. Special thanks also go to the Assessors from the Office of the State Forensic Pathologist and the University of Zambia (UNZA).

DIGITAL ECONOMIC ROUNDTABLE (DERT) BY PDU.
Thursday 28th May, 2026.

The Ministry of Technology and Science, in collaboration with the Presidential Delivery Unit (PDU), convened a Co-Creation Session under the Digital Economy Roundtable (DERT) framework to shape Zambia’s National Digital Activation Campaign. The session brought together Government institutions, regulators, financial institutions, telecommunications operators, media houses, development partners, and private sector stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and develop strategies aimed at increasing digital inclusion, digital literacy, citizen trust, and uptake of digital services.

The meeting formed part of Government’s broader agenda to accelerate Zambia’s digital transformation and support President Hakainde Hichilema’s vision of building an inclusive, connected, and technology-driven economy. Stakeholders acknowledged progress made in expanding digital infrastructure and connectivity but noted persistent challenges related to public awareness, confidence, and participation in digital services.

Officiating at the session, Permanent Secretary Eng. Dr. Brilliant Habeenzu emphasized the importance of partnerships and coordinated action in advancing Zambia’s digital transformation agenda. He highlighted the need for practical implementation, improved communication on available e-services, stronger cybersecurity frameworks, and support for digital content creators and gamers as part of growing the digital economy.

Speaking on behalf of the Presidential Delivery Unit, Delivery Manager Mr. Mupota Muchelemba stressed the importance of building citizen trust in e-services and ensuring collaboration among stakeholders to promote digital inclusion, especially in underserved communities.

Stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to supporting a coordinated national campaign that promotes awareness, accessibility, and meaningful participation in Zambia’s digital economy, with the goal of improving service delivery, economic growth, and national development. The Ministry of Technology and Science, in collaboration with the Presidential Delivery Unit (PDU), convened a Co-Creation Session under the Digital Economy Roundtable (DERT) framework to shape Zambia’s National Digital Activation Campaign.
