The Ministry of Tourism joins the Embassy of Italy in Zambia in celebrating Italy’s National Day. Permanent Secretary Mr. Evans Muhanga is honoured to be part of the celebrations, reaffirming Zambia’s commitment to strengthening tourism, cultural, and economic cooperation with Italy.

The Ministry of Tourism and Art was created on 10th July, 2011 after realignment of Government Ministries by His Excellency Mr.
Michael Chilufya Sata, the President of Republic of Zambia. This brought together the portfolio functions of tourism from former Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tourism and the portfolio functions of Culture from the Ministry of Chiefs and Traditional Affairs. The Ministry of Tourism joins the nation in mourning the passing of His Royal Highness Paramount Chief Mpezeni IV of the Ngoni people.
His Royal Highness was a revered traditional leader, a custodian of Zambia’s rich cultural heritage, and a symbol of unity, wisdom and cultural pride. His unwavering commitment to preserving and promoting the traditions and values of the Ngoni people made a significant contribution to Zambia’s cultural identity and tourism landscape.
As we reflect on his remarkable legacy, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the Royal Establishment, the Ngoni people and the bereaved family during this difficult time.
May His Royal Highness Paramount Chief Mpezeni IV rest in eternal peace.
