Today, we were delighted to host 50 learners from Children of the Redeemer Academy (COTRA) for an exciting educational tour of our facilities!

The visit gave the learners a first-hand experience of science, research and innovation in action, sparking curiosity and inspiring the next generation of scientists and innovators.

Today, NISIR had the privilege of hosting the Radiation Protection Authority (RPA) and participants of the recently concluded regional meeting under the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Technical Cooperation Project RAF 9070, hosted by the RPA.

The visit aimed to showcase how Zambia applies nuclear science and technology, as part of efforts to strengthen emergency preparedness and response frameworks for nuclear and radiological emergencies across Africa.

We were delighted to welcome the delegation and share our work in advancing science, technology and innovation for national development.

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY AT NISIR!

NISIR is looking for a suitably qualified new graduate for a paid internship program in the Accounts Department to be based at NISIR Headquarters, Lusaka. The Internship period is 6 months, with the possibility of renewal based on performance.

THE JOB
Under the mentorship of the Accounts Assistant-Payables, the intern will be required to undertake the following main key responsibilities;

THE PERSON
The ideal candidate is expected to have the following: A fresh graduate in the field of Accounting and Finance at Bachelor degree level or indeterminate qualification in ACCA, CIMA or ZICA and studying towards certification, self-driven with ability to learn and adapt to a business finance office.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
• Assist in the preparation of day-to-day payments.
• Assist in the filling of all accounting.
• Assist in the recording and posting of related payment details in the SAGE accounting system.
• Assist in the preparation and issuance of vendor invoices and receipts.
• Undertake all duties as assigned by the trainer.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
• Full Form V or Grade 12 Certificate
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, Intermediate qualifications in ACCA, CIMA, ZICA or other relevant qualification,
• At least not more than 25 years of age.
• Knowledge of an Accounting software such as SAGE, Pastel etc.. will be an added advantage.
