The Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) in collaboration with the Zambia Association of Manufacturers successfully conducted an ISO 9001 Quality Management System Awareness Session at Golden Peacock Hotel on Friday, 22nd May 2026.
The session brought together industry stakeholders and manufacturers for engagements on the 2024 amendments and highlights of the upcoming ISO 9001:2026 standard, as well as occupational health and safety compliance through ISO 45001 implementation.
Participants also received insights on surveillance inspections and permits to supply, with a focus on compliance requirements relating to imports and exports.
Interactive Q&A sessions further enhanced participants’ understanding of quality management systems and standards adherence in Zambia.

Day 2 of CAMINEX was in full swing as various delegates, exhibitors, investors and stakeholders visited the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry pavilion to learn more about the work we do at ZABS.
We were delighted to welcome Mr. Lawrence Mwanza Permanent Secretary for Copperbelt Province and Mrs. Lillian S. Bwalya, the Permanent Secretary for Trade and Commerce in the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry, along with Directors from the Ministry to the One-Stop Shop exhibition area.
The 2026 CAMINEX Expo is being held under the theme, “Collaboration for Growth: Developing Talent, Trust and Trade.”
