To enhance its visibility and engage with the public more effectively, the Ministry is launching a brochure titled "How Do You Know Us?" FINLAND STREGTHENS RELATIONS WITH ZAMBIA !
Finnish Ambassador Saana Halinen recently paid a courtesy call to Ministry of Water Development and Sanitation.
Her excellency, Ambassador Saana Halinen met with Permanent Secretary Eng. Romas Kamanga to discuss ongoing and potential collaborations in the water sector.
The conversation focused on strengthening partnerships and exploring opportunities for Finnish expertise and support in addressing water and sanitation challenge and capacity building of Zambian water engineers.
She said the meeting underscored the commitment of both parties to enhancing underground water management and infrastructure development.
During the Finnish Ambassador Halinen's courtesy call on Zambia's Ministry of Water Development and Sanitation, her key areas of focus included the management of underground water resources and the potential signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on water support.
Ambassador Halinen emphasized the importance of data collection and analysis related to underground water, highlighting the need for robust collaboration to enhance water resource management in Zambia.
The discussion aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and leveraging Finnish expertise to address Zambia's water challenges effectively.
And the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Water and Sanitation Eng. Romas Kamanga welcomed the proposal for collaboration and expressed support for bringing Finnish water experts to Zambia, particularly during the severe drought period of 2023-2024 were the country is faced with food and water challenges.
Engineer Kamanga later assigned Dr. Mukuzo to urgently work with Ambassador Saana Halinen's office to develop and finalize the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on water support and data collection.
This initiative aims to address critical water challenges and strengthen cooperation between Zambia and Finland.
