The Smart Zambia Institute (SZI), through the Digital Zambia Acceleration Project (DZAP), hereby invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply and delivery of the following digitisation equipment:

• 2 Servers
• 50 Scanners
• 100 Laptops

Digitalisation is helping shape a more connected Zambia, supporting better service delivery, wider access to digital opportunities and greater participation in the digital economy. The Digital Zambia Acceleration Project (DZAP), implemented by the Government of Zambia through the SMART Zambia - e-Government Division, with financial support from the World Bank, supports this transformation by expanding affordable internet access, strengthening digital public services and building digital skills.

𝗘𝗡𝗩𝗜𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗟 & 𝗦𝗢𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗘𝗫𝗘𝗥𝗖𝗜𝗦𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗘𝗗 𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗟 𝗧𝗢𝗪𝗘𝗥 𝗦𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗦 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗦

The Government of the Republic of Zambia, through the SMART Zambia - e-Government Division, is undertaking an Environmental and Social Screening Exercise for proposed cell tower sites under the World Bank funded Digital Zambia Acceleration Project (DZAP). This is from 14 September to 15 October 2026 in selected sites across all the 10 provinces of Zambia.

Multidisciplinary teams from DZAP, SMART Zambia Institute, the Ministry of Technology and Science - Zambia, the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) and Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA) are visiting selected sites to assess potential environmental and social risks and consult relevant stakeholders.

The exercise will help ensure that the expansion of digital infrastructure is environmentally sound and socially inclusive, while supporting improved connectivity and access to digitally enabled services, particularly in unserved and underserved areas.

We are pleased to welcome the Zambia Agency for Persons with Disabilities (ZAPD) to the Digital Zambia Acceleration Project (DZAP) Digital Skills Technical Committee. Digital skills are vital for empowerment, and we believe no one should be excluded.

Today's onboarding meeting was a positive step towards ensuring our programmes prioritise accessibility and inclusivity.

We are honoured to have ZAPD Directors Bornface Tumba (Accessibility Inspector) and Agatha Banda (Rehabilitation and Research) join us. Other Digital Skills Technical Committee members include the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA), the Ministry of Technology and Science (MOTS), the ZAMREN (Zambia Research and Education Network), the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts (MYSA), the Ministry of Education- Zambia (MOE), and the SMART Zambia - e-Government Division (SZI).

Supported by the World Bank and implemented by the Electronic Government Division-SMART Zambia Institute, DZAP aims to boost internet access, enhance digital government services, and build digital skills across the nation.
