You Can’t Stop a Vision Whose Time Has Come
27th March 2026 will forever remain a historic milestone, a day that will be etched in our hearts for generations to come.
Coming shortly after the National Commemoration of Youth Day under the theme “Arise and Soar,” a thought provoking theme, a period of deep reflection for young people to critically assess their role in shaping the future and to strategically position themselves in alignment with opportunities for growth, leadership, and impact.
For some of us, this period was filled with both sorrowful and joyful tears, a powerful reminder that history is not only remembered, but created. Once again, a defining chapter has been written, one that cannot easily be erased.
This is the story of a youth-led organisation from the Northern Circuit, specifically Luapula Province, a region often unfairly underestimated, sometimes dismissed as underdeveloped or “just a village.” While such perceptions may exist, they do not tell the full story.
What remains undeniable is the immense, untapped potential that lies within the youth of Luapula. A generation rich in natural talent, innovation, and resilience, young people who, when given the right opportunities, support, and empowerment, are fully capable of driving sustainable development within their communities and beyond.
This moment stands as a testament: greatness is not determined by geography, but by vision, determination, and collective action.
The journey has not been easy. It has been marked by challenges, criticism, name-calling, bitterness, jealousy, and envy. Yet, through it all, this small group of determined and visionary young people has remained steadfast, transforming adversity into strength and becoming a beacon of hope and light.
This reality calls for reflection. Why do some give up while others persist? The answer lies in purpose, discipline, and the courage to keep going even when the odds are stacked against you. It is a lesson not only for individuals, but for the broader youth movement.
A truth emerges, one that calls for reflection, self-introspection, and renewed resolve.
Despite limited resources, we have, within our means, positioned ourselves as a youth powerhouse, first within the Province, and now across the wider youth landscape. What once seemed unlikely has now become REALITY.
Even when others doubted us and never believed in our potential, we chose to believe in OURSELVES, firmly, consistently, and without compromise.
Today, we have brought it HOME. But honestly, how many have shown genuine love and support to these selfless, dedicated and self motivated young leaders who are positioning the province, raising its bar, speaking of its potential at a National Plartform and emerges as outstanding in the country?
This is not a small achievement, it is one that comes once in a year, and its significance cannot be overlooked. But honestly, your guess is as good as mine.
Yes, the youth whom we proudly represent have truly shown that love. But for others, this moment serves as a reminder, that ‘You cannot stop a vision whose time has come, especially one that is destined to endure.
Who would have imagined that a Youth-led organisation from Luapula would be recognized as “Youth-led Organisation of the Year” especially on such a Huge Platform, the first of its kind?
This recognition is not just an award, it is a symbol of dedication, commitment, excellence, and, most importantly, meaningful and positive impact.
This award carries the hopes, aspirations, and voices of thousands of young people across the country. And today, we proudly confirm and affirm that we have brought it HOME.
Home, to the very place that gave birth to our organisation.
This achievement is not ours alone. It is a clear affirmation of the immense potential that exists within our region. We stand not just as an organisation, but as a vessel, demonstrating to the nation and the world that Luapula has that potential.
We are proud to have laid a firm, strong and enduring foundation, even amidst limited support. More importantly, we have opened doors for greater excellence, for those who will come after us.
While this moment is deeply emotional, it also calls for renewed commitment: to genuinely and honeslty support, uplift, and strategically position young people where their potential can be recognized, nurtured, and celebrated.
It is time to build on what has been established. It is time to strengthen collaboration, foster genuine support systems, and intentionally create platforms where youth potential can be recognized, nurtured, and celebrated.
We are extremely honored and privileged to be among the torchbearers of this foundation, and we remain hopeful that more youth-led organisations will be supported to rise and achieve their full potential.
Because indeed,
You can’t stop an vision whose time has come.
This is just the beginning of the greater things we are yet to see.
