WATER SUPPLY UPDATE – KAOLE AND SURROUNDING AREAS
Luapula Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited is pleased to inform its valued customers that the Kaole Pump resumed operations at approximately 23:00 hours last night following repair works by our technical team.
Water supply is expected to gradually normalize in Kaole and surrounding areas as the distribution system stabilizes and reservoirs replenish.
Customers are kindly requested to confirm in the comments section or through our customer service channels whether they are now receiving water in their respective areas. Your feedback will assist our team in monitoring the restoration process and identifying any areas that may still require attention.

AfDB Commends LpWSC for Sustaining Project Infrastructure During Kawambwa Monitoring Mission
The African Development Bank (AfDB) concluded its monitoring mission under the Integrated Small Towns Water Supply and Sanitation Project (ISTWSSP) with a visit to Kawambwa District, where the delegation commended Luapula Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited (LpWSC) for its effective management and maintenance of project infrastructure.
The monitoring mission included inspections of key facilities established under the project, among them the Water Treatment Plant, water source facilities, boreholes and the Distribution Centre. The delegation also visited Luapula Water's district offices, where updates were provided on the performance and impact of the investments on water service delivery within the district.
During the visit, the AfDB delegation expressed satisfaction with the condition and functionality of the infrastructure, noting that facilities handed over years ago continue to operate efficiently and remain well maintained. The delegation highlighted this as a testament to Luapula Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited's commitment to sustainable asset management and the long-term success of the project.
The mission further provided an opportunity to assess the contribution of the infrastructure towards improving access to clean and safe water, enhancing service reliability and supporting socio-economic development in Kawambwa District.

The team then proceeded to the Distribution Centre in Chabala Muwe, followed by tours of the Water Treatment Plant and Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Throughout the visit, the delegation expressed satisfaction with the progress made and commended the Company's operational standards and commitment to improving water and sanitation service delivery. Luapula Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited (LpWSC) has received commendation from the African Development Bank (AfDB) for its effective operation and maintenance of water and sanitation infrastructure established under the Integrated Small Towns Water Supply and Sanitation Project (ISTWSSP).
The recognition came during a courtesy call on the Luapula Provincial Administration by an AfDB delegation led by Senior Water and Sanitation Engineer, Mr. Herbert Chinokoro, ahead of a monitoring mission to project sites in Mansa District.
Mr. Chinokoro praised Luapula Water for its commitment to sustainably managing the infrastructure developed through the AfDB-supported programme, noting that the Bank was particularly impressed with the performance of water infrastructure in Samfya District.

WATER SUPPLY UPDATE – KAOLE AND SURROUNDING AREAS
Luapula Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited wishes to inform its valued customers that water supply disruptions currently being experienced in Kaole and surrounding areas are due to a pump failure at the Kaole Pump Station.
Our technical team is on site and is currently working on the fabrication and installation of a new control panel to restore operations as quickly as possible.
To help ease the situation, the Company is providing water through a water bowser in Kaole and Central Town. Customers are advised to be on the lookout for the water bowser and make adequate arrangements to access water during this period.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience and understanding as our team works diligently to restore normal water supply.

Today, Luapula Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited hosted representatives from the African Development Bank (AfDB) on a monitoring visit to the Integrated Small Towns Water Supply and Sanitation Project (ISTWSSP) in Samfya District.
The delegation toured key project infrastructure, including the Water Treatment Plant, Pump House, and the two 500m³ storage tanks constructed under the project.
The project has significantly improved water service delivery in Samfya through the construction of a 5,200m³/day Water Treatment Plant, installation of 4,000 water connections, and expansion of water supply infrastructure. As a result, approximately 36,000 people now have access to clean and safe drinking water.
The visit provided an opportunity to appreciate the impact of the investment and the progress made towards enhancing access to reliable water supply services in Samfya District.
