Invitation to the Preparation of 2026 Campaign Timetable

MUFULIRA MUNICIPAL COUNCIL RECEIVES AMBULANCE FOR MUFULIRA CENTRAL CONSTITUENCY UNDER CDF

Mufulira Municipal Council has received an ambulance for Mufulira Central Constituency.

The ambulance was procured under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for Mufulira Constituency and forms part of the Council’s ongoing commitment to improve healthcare access and strengthen emergency response for residents.

The vehicle will be handed over to the relevant health facility to enhance service delivery and support timely medical interventions across the constituency.

Advantages of the Ambulance for the Constituency:

- Faster Emergency Response: Enables quicker transport of patients during medical emergencies, accidents, and obstetric cases, improving survival chances.

- Improved Access to Healthcare: Facilitates referral of patients from clinics and rural health posts to higher-level facilities without delays.

- Reduced Out-of-Pocket Transport Costs: Eases the financial burden on families who would otherwise have to hire private transport for emergencies.

- Strengthened Referral System: Supports seamless movement of patients between facilities, ensuring continuity of care.

ECZ CONDUCTS BRIEFING FOR RETURNING OFFICERS AND UNIFORMED PERSONNEL AHEAD OF NOMINATIONS

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) today conducted a briefing for Returning Officers in preparation for the local government nominations.

The session covered nomination procedures, documentation requirements, and operational guidelines to ensure a smooth and efficient process. As part of the preparations, ECZ technical teams are also expected to configure computers and nomination systems to ensure all equipment is fully operational ahead of the exercise. This is to ensure the nomination process proceeds without any challenges.

In a separate engagement, a briefing was held for uniformed uniformed personnel to inform them of the nominations scheduled to start on Wednesday, 20th May 2026. The briefing aimed to coordinate security arrangements and enhance safety and order during the nomination period.

The Commission reaffirms its commitment to conducting a transparent, orderly, and credible nomination process in line with the Electoral Code of Conduct and electoral laws.
