UPND CALLS FOR UNITY AFTER CHARLIE MASUMO FILES NOMINATION FOR MUMBWA COUNCIL CHAIRPERSON

UPND aspiring Mumbwa Council Chairperson candidate Mr. Charlie Masumo has called for unity, teamwork and peaceful campaigns among party members after successfully filing his nomination papers in Mumbwa ahead of the August 13 general elections.

Mr. Masumo filed in amid strong support from party members and leaders, accompanied by aspiring Nangoma Constituency parliamentary candidate Hon. Eng. Collins Nzovu and several UPND officials.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Falcon News shortly after the filing process, Mr. Masumo said the spirit of unity currently being demonstrated within the party would help accelerate development in Mumbwa and strengthen the UPND ahead of the polls.

He urged party members to remain focused and support President Hakainde Hichilema, describing the Head of State as central to Zambia’s continued development and economic transformation agenda.

Meanwhile, UPND aspiring Mumbwa parliamentary candidate Mr. Clarence Chisuku has appealed for peace, reconciliation and cooperation among party members following recent disagreements that emerged during the party adoption process.

Mr. Chisuku encouraged supporters of various aspiring candidates, including Madam Wegonagachinda, Hon. Gracious Hamatara and Hon. Boyd Munabaike, to unite behind the adopted candidates for the greater good of the party.

He emphasized that a united UPND remains key to securing victory for President Hakainde Hichilema in the forthcoming elections.
