Meet the Dassies of The Lion Park!
Our free-ranging dassies, also known as rock hyraxes, live among the park's spectacular balancing rocks. Although they may look like large guinea pigs or rabbits, these fascinating creatures are actually among the closest living relatives of the elephant!
As you explore our Dassie trail, take a moment to sit quietly and watch. You may see families of dassies sunbathing, youngsters playing, or a lookout perched on a high rock scanning the surroundings.
Please enjoy observing these remarkable animals from a respectful distance and help us protect their natural habitat.
Can you spot them all? ππͺ¨πΎ
