U.S. Embassy Harare partnered with Fabrik Party Harare and Samora Central for a Limitless Africa listening session on โ€œHow Hip Hop Can Build a Business Empire.โ€

The panel featured Zimbabwean-American Emmy Award-winning rapper Draze, whose work is rooted in Seattleโ€™s creative community; Zimbabwean producer Mr Kamera, who co-produced Ciara and Chris Brownโ€™s โ€œHow We Rollโ€; and Zim Hip Hop Awards founder Beefy. They explored how artists can build businesses through publishing, film and TV placements, merchandise, events, digital pitching, and professional networks.

The conversation also highlighted how Zimbabwean creatives can serve global markets from home and strengthen connections with the U.S. music industry.

American Corner Gweru, in collaboration with GeoConnect, hosted hands-on training on KoboToolboxโ€”an innovative digital data collection platform developed by American researchers at the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative.

Participants learned how to design and deploy digital surveys, manage end-to-end data collection, and build dashboards that transform information into actionable insights.

Prof. Robert Musundire, a 2018 Fulbright alumnus, shared a lecture at Marondera University on turning research into policy, practice, and market-ready solutions.

Drawing on his postdoctoral experience at Michigan State University, Prof. Musundire shared lessons from the United States on innovation, entrepreneurship, and moving ideas from the laboratory to the marketplace.

The Embassy-facilitated lecture connected students and academics with American approaches to innovation while strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystems that support economic growth and commercial ties in Zimbabwe and the United States.
