EU Delegation to Zimbabwe

What a week it has been! 🎶🇪🇺
As part of our Europe Month 2025 celebrations, Spanish Flamenco guitarist Juan Cruz Palacios has spent the last few days immersing himself in Zimbabwe's rich musical traditions. He visited master musician and mbira craftsman Jacob Mafuleni in Tynwald, where two musical worlds sat together, played together and listened to one another. He then spent time with world-class Zimbabwean guitarist Trust Samende — a session that left little doubt about how special tomorrow's concert is going to be.
And on Wednesday morning, Juan and Sofar Harare curator Khumbulani Muleya stopped by Star FM to share a little of what is to come.
Tomorrow, it all comes together.

The EU Delegation to Zimbabwe closes out Europe Month 2026 with a free outdoor afternoon concert — Under the Same Sun: Where Groove Meets Guitar, a 90s R&B & Urban Grooves Retro Concert — bringing Spanish Flamenco and Zimbabwean musical traditions onto one stage, in one afternoon, in celebration of the EU-Zimbabwe partnership.
May is Zimbabwe's Culture Month. May is the EU's Europe Month. Tomorrow, we celebrate both — together, under the same sun. ☀️

The EU Delegation to Zimbabwe was delighted to host a breakfast meeting in Harare to welcome Ambassador Javier Niño Pérez, accompanied by Mr Gianluca Azzoni and Ms Alessandra Budello, together with Ambassadors of EU Member States 🇷🇴🇪🇸🇫🇷🇬🇷🇩🇪🇮🇹in Zimbabwe.The gathering was hosted on behalf of the EU Delegation to Zimbabwe by Chargée d’Affaires Lourdes Chamorro and Head of Cooperation Ania Cichoka.

The gathering was a valuable opportunity to exchange on the strong partnership between the EU, the African Union and Zimbabwe, and to reaffirm our shared commitment to cooperation, dialogue and partnership.
