The President of the Senate Hon. M.M Chinomona is currently in Belgrade, Serbia, leading a Parliamentary delegation to the 2026 IPU Global Conference of Women Parliamentarians, being held under the overarching theme: “Advancing Parity: Breaking the Barriers of Gender Stereotypes and Negative Social Norms.”
The conference has brought together parliamentarians from across the globe to exchange experiences, identify best practices, and develop strategies aimed at advancing gender parity in political representation and decision-making processes.
The Zimbabwean delegation comprises Hon. Senator Robson Mavenyengwa, Hon. Chinjai Kambuzuma, and Hon. Sikhuphulile Dube.

The Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Hon. Z. Ziyambi, today outlined the objectives of Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3, which include, among other matters, harmonising the constitutional order and reinforcing constitutional governance.
The Bill was formally introduced in Parliament through its First Reading

Today, the Thematic Committee on Peace and Security toured the 200kW Hakwata Solar Project in Chipinge, Manicaland Province, as part of its renewable energy fact-finding visits.

The Committee noted that community members welcomed the project with gratitude as it transformed their lives. The solar system now powers schools, clinics, homes, street lights, and an automated weather station, thereby boosting service delivery and livelihoods.

Parliament’s Thematic Committee on Peace and Security toured the Great Zimbabwe Hydro Power Plant as part of its oversight on renewable energy.

The 5MW plant started commercial operations on 13 November 2024 and has been feeding clean, reliable power into the national grid for 18 months. It runs two 2.5MW units and sends electricity via a 25km line to ZETDC.

The Committee commended the project for strengthening Zimbabwe’s energy security and supporting sustainable national development.
