Bradburn Street (Josiah Tongogara Avenue to Chimusana) will be temporarily closed from 15 June to 24 July 2026 to facilitate road rehabilitation works.

The SADC Secretariat will convene the Cluster Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Transport, ICT, Information and Meteorology from 22โ26 June 2026 in Bulawayo, hosted by the Government of Zimbabwe.
The meeting will bring together Ministers and senior policymakers from SADC Member States to discuss key priorities aimed at strengthening regional integration, infrastructure development, digital transformation and climate resilience. The meeting will be chaired by Barbara Creecy in her capacity as Chairperson of the SADC Committee of Ministers for Transport, ICT, Information and Meteorology.

Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development is currently hosting its Intra-Ministerial Sports Tournament at Belvedere Teachers Training College, bringing together its staff and Parastatals in a vibrant showcase of sport, wellness, and teamwork.
The event is being graced by the Permanent Secretary, Eng J P Makumbe, underscoring the Ministryโs commitment to fostering unity, fitness among employees.
The tournament got off to an energetic start with Cycling and the Marathon, setting the tone for an action-packed programme. A wide range of disciplines are now underway, including soccer, netball, chess, darts, volleyball, and tug of war, all featuring spirited participation from across the Ministry and its parastatals.

Transport and Infrastructural Development Permanent Secretary, Eng. J.P. Makumbe, today officially opened the inaugural ZimbabweโMalawiโMozambique Trilateral Joint Route Management Group and Joint Committee Meeting in Harare. The meeting is running from 9-11 June 2026.
Addressing delegates, Eng. Makumbe underscored the importance of regional collaboration in improving corridor efficiency, harmonising transport regulations, strengthening border operations, and enhancing infrastructure development across the three countries. She noted that transport corridors linking Zimbabwe, Malawi and Mozambique are critical drivers of trade, investment and economic growth in the region.
The Permanent Secretary highlighted ongoing infrastructure development projects in Zimbabwe, including the HarareโMasvingoโBeitbridge Highway, upgrades to key regional trunk roads, and the modernisation of border posts to facilitate seamless movement of people and goods.
She also commended Mozambique for ratifying the African Road Safety Charter, a milestone that has enabled the Charter to enter into force as Africa's first legally binding continental road safety framework.
Eng. Makumbe called on delegates to pursue practical, coordinated solutions to address challenges affecting regional transport systems and to strengthen cooperation in support of regional integration, trade and sustainable economic development.

Makumbe, together with her counterparts from Malawi and Mozambique, Mr. Bright Kumwembe and Mr. Alberto Matusse, is addressing delegates at the ZimbabweโMalawiโMozambique Trilateral Joint Route Management Group and Joint Committee Meeting currently underway at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Harare.
The meeting is being convened under the framework of the three countries' bilateral road transport agreements and serves as a platform to strengthen regional cooperation, enhance transport connectivity, and facilitate the seamless movement of goods and passengers across the region.
