The pots are boiling, the fires are burning and Zimbabwe’s finest Cooks are ready for the ultimate showdown! The National Finals of the 2026 Amai’s Traditional Cookout Competitions are coming to Mbizo, Kwekwe in Midlands Province on the 25th of May 2026!

Contestants from all the 10 provinces in the categories of Community, Professional Chefs, Tertiary Students, Churches and Persons with Disabilities will battle it out in a celebration of Culture, Heritage and Traditional Cuisine. An initiative by the Patron of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Her Excellency The First Lady Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa.

DID YOU KNOW!? Matabeleland South Province, host of the Zimbabwe At 46 Independence Day Celebrations is rife with culture, heritage and rural tourism and is also known as the Rainbow Province. It is home to diverse ethnic groups including the Venda, Kalanga, Ndebele, Sotho, San, Shangani, and Xhosa. The province celebrates this vibrant cultural diversity that draws visitors throughout the year.

Key highlights in the province include elephant feeding at Nottingham Estate, the ancient Sentinel Dinosaur Fossils, and the My Beautiful Home project which promotes cultural preservation and showcases the cultural practice of decorating traditional huts using the same craft that has been practiced for hundreds of years.
