The Zimbabwe Gender Commission (ZGC), together with the Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission (ZHRC), today met with the UN Special Rapporteur in the Field of Cultural Rights, Ms. Alexandra Xanthaki.

The engagement, chaired by ZGC Chairperson Dr. Leslie Ncube, explored the intersection of cultural rights, human rights and gender equality, and how culture can be harnessed to promote inclusivity while addressing harmful practices that hinder gender equality.

Yesterday, our Director for Legal, Complaints Handling and Investigations joined a panel of experts to unpack the laws and policies promoting gender equality in Zimbabwe and the hurdles that still need to be addressed.

This was during commemorations for the International Day of Democracy held in Harare by Hivos, Gender and Media Connect and the Embassy of Ireland in Zimbabwe.

Discussions focused on the theme: _Every Voice Counts: Building an Inclusive Democracy Through Citizen Participation_, with sexual harassment highlighted as a key barrier to women's participation.

Key Duties Include:
βœ… Providing legal advice to the Commission
βœ… Drafting, reviewing & negotiating contracts and legal documents
βœ… Advising on legislation, regulations & Constitutional provisions
βœ… Conducting legal research on gender-related issues
βœ… Identifying legal gaps for law reform
βœ… Managing legal and court processes
βœ… Implementing legal awareness programmes

Minimum Requirements:
