Day 35 update.

We continue our journey to document and share our story. This is our story at MagaWoods. We use these these posts to connect with our clients, improve our work and inspire other farmers who want to learn from us.

1. Mortality is now 2.65%, we lost 27 up to date. That's a big number. We have taken not of what went wrong in Week 3 to 4. Loosing birds in Week 3 onwards is sad because that eats into our profit through feed.
2. Average weight is at 2kg. 10% of the birds have reached our target weight of 2.3kg. We have started putting aside ready for slaughter.
3. SALES are now open to remove the big birds. Continuing to feed these will drop our profit.

Well done to the team for keeping these birds so clean and healthy upto this week. To get these clean feathers and feet, bedding management is cruacial. Well done team.

Soon we will sadly miss the noise and the rush as we close the batch next week. To our bulk buyers, hold on we are almost on the target.

Week 5 starts today! Week 4 was tough, nursing those sick birds, but we came out stronger 💪. Mortality dropped by 45% - lost 5 birds (down from 9 in week 3). Past 4 days: ZERO mortality! 😊 Big shoutout to the team for their dedication.

Food Conversion Ratio: 1.3. Mortality rate: 2.5%. Lessons learnt, moving forward! Goal: Hit 2.3kg live weight by week 6.

Our chicks have officially made it through their first week—healthy, active, and right on target with their weights! Watching them grow stronger every day has been such a rewarding experience. Huge thanks to everyone who’s working hard to give them the comfort they deserve, shared advice, encouragement, and good energy along the way.
