Zimbabwe is made up of people of different cultures, different languages, different academic backgrounds, different religions, different political affiliations, different races and also different social standings. Such different people can only be United by the constitution of our country which was written by the people in 2013. Leaders who fail to obey the constitution are the main reason why we are a divided country today. Such leaders smuggle new things in the people’s constitution through Amendment Bills which are meant to keep them in power. POLAD and Dialogue can not unite people whose constitution is being changed every day.

I’m presenting myself as that leader who will respect our constitution and leave it intact as it was written in 2013 by the people of Zimbabwe. That’s what brings unity and trust. The Zimbabwe People’s Party values respect of the constitution, transparency and accountability as the starting points for good nation building.

The Zimbabwe People’s Party stands with the people during these current wave of demolitions going on in Harare and Chitungwiza. Our main questions are:
1.Where was the government and councils when people were building in undesignated places?
2. What happened to monitoring of programs?
3. Why leave people building in illegal places?
4. Where was government and councils when the people were building?
5. What more things are you not monitoring and regulating in our country?

The ZPP is instructing you to build shades and workshops and allocate people and help them move their belongings to allocated places. After that, you can then go and demolish empty illegal structures when people have all moved to new places.
*If you can put billboards about your political campaigns like $US1 = 1 Bond which has turned out to be untrue, why can’t you put billboards saying “Building Not Allowed 🚫 “.

Now that you demolished their structures which is a source for their livelihoods can you now compensate them.

The central government and councils are not monitoring their programs and regulating them. There is a very big failure on their part and also they are also failing in many other facets of our lives and economy.

Way forward

Join ZPP. Support my campaign and join the road to a new Zimbabwe. A Zimbabwe of leaders who monitor programs and care about people.

Do you think the central government should have a role to play in helping our council in service delivery?

VENDORS AND COMMUTERS

Shurugwi Town Council should know that improving economic opportunities for the poor cannot happen in a vacuum. Street vendors and commuters are out there every day trying to earn an income, but policymakers need to address these structural inequities that hinder those at the base of the pyramid from making a living and a life.The vendors and commuters spend most of their hours in town hence there are certain services that they expect to receive from council due to the fact that they pay a certain fee. Shurugwi Town Council should address the issue of lack of toilet in the CBD. This is simple !!!

Does the Shurugwi Town Council sufficiently protect the natural environment in areas under its control (trees, rivers etc )?How will you rate the way the municipality approves and enforces building plans and regulations? I
