Solidarity photo from our Iron Ladies film screening last weekend!

QS members were joined by Evelyn and Billy Fraser from the Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign, who have first hand accounts from the 1984/85 miners struggle and in particular, the police riot and brutality that fateful day at Orgreave.

Thank you again to Billy and Evelyn, the fight for justice and workers' rights goes on across the world!

COMING UP

The next Brisbane district meeting will be held on Saturday, 5th December.

The Victorian election, happening next month, will be the most significant test of One Nation's support so far. They are likely to win some seats.

However it's also the largest ever socialist election campaign in Australia's history, with thousands of volunteers already involved and candidates in all 88 lower house seats. So the battle lines are drawn!

Come along to catch up together after the election, and plan what's next for us in Brisbane.

When: Saturday 5th December, 12pm

Where: Toowong Library

Register to attend on our website!

Thanks everyone who came along to our very special screening of Iron Ladies!

A ton of thanks to the creators at and for putting us in touch with Lorraine, a participant in the film and in the strike! We laughed, cried and cheered along with her stories.

It's important we continue to learn from the history of workers and their resistance, their struggles have lessons for us today. Despite the right wing reaction that surrounds us today, we can take hope and courage from the memories of the working class battles that have gone before.

We were also honoured to meet with Billy and Evelyn Fraser, from the Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign, still fighting for dignity and justice more than 40 years later. They kindly donated some posters to us!

We are hosting more events soon. Keep an eye on our website or DM us to find out more!

THE RIGHT TO STRIKE UNDER ATTACK

Who's surprised? Crisafulli has been ramming through attacks on us for years, locking up Indigenous kids, taking away trans healthcare and fast-tracking disgusting data centres.

This right wing, pro Trump, anti worker government needs a fight. And we're the crew to give it to them.

Get active, get involved, join us and stay tuned for more actions soon!
