🖤💛❤️Last week, we were proud to join allies, Elders, community members and fellow organisations at the Reconciliation WA Walk for Reconciliation at Kaarta Koomba (Kings Park).

Every year the event creates opportunities to listen, learn and engage in truth-telling as we walk together on the path to reconciliation. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

Through the Women's Business yarn, conversations about bush medicine and reflections on the impacts of historical prohibited areas and the contributions of Aboriginal war veterans, we were reminded that meaningful reconciliation begins with listening.

We are grateful to everyone who shared their knowledge and stories, reinforcing our commitment to active allyship, meaningful action and walking together to find a way towards lasting change.🤝

🌏 Every child deserves to feel safe, respected and free to be themselves.

This Children’s Week, we’re celebrating the rights, voices and wellbeing of children across Australia.

The 2026 theme, “Children have the right to use their own language, celebrate their culture and practise their religion”, highlights the importance of respecting every child’s identity, culture and background. 💚

At Relationships Australia WA, our commitment to child safety is ongoing. Through our services, we champion and protect the wellbeing of children and families across WA.

Our focus includes:

✅ Creating child-safe environments across all services and locations
✅ Listening to and acting on children’s voices
✅ Equipping staff with comprehensive child safety training

🎨 This year’s official Children’s Week artwork was inspired by 10-year-old Aurore, celebrating the diversity of languages, cultures and communities across Australia.

7️⃣ Seek practical support – Free financial counselling services can help you understand your options and make things feel less overwhelming.

This Anti-Poverty Week, we’re adding our voice for change. 💜

Around 424,500 West Australians are living in poverty – that’s 1 in 7 people in WA.

Poverty can affect every part of a person’s life – from their wellbeing to their relationships, opportunities and ability to feel connected to their community.

But poverty isn’t inevitable. By changing the systems and conditions that shape people’s lives, we can help create a WA where everyone has the opportunity to live well and thrive.

Ending poverty takes all of us. Together, we can be part of the change.

Positive co-parenting starts with communication. 🧡

Mediation (also known as Family Dispute Resolution) can provide a supported space for separated parents to work through difficult conversations, make practical decisions and find a way forward.

For this parent, that meant building more cooperative communication for their children — one step at a time. 💬

Our mediation services support separated parents to work towards parenting and property agreements that put their children’s needs first.
