- FEATURED VACANCY & TRAINING SESSION -

The Cannery Arts Centre have got new gallery lights and, maybe you’ve noticed, it's made a huge difference to how their exhibitions look. But getting the lighting right takes a small team of vollies who know what they’re doing.
Our question for you is: Are you a future exhibiting artist, keen to volunteer with the Cannery Lighting Crew, or just have a bit of a passion for lighting? This one’s for you!

The Cannery is conducting GALLERY LIGHTING TRAINING on SEPT 10th so now is the perfect time to sign up for this volunteer crew!

Last year, Art on the Move trained some of our team in the basics of exhibition lighting. Now they want to share that knowledge and get a few more people confident using the system.

Come along for a relaxed, hands-on 3-hour session. They will run through the different lights they have, what they can do, how to install and use them safely, and then have a play lighting different artwork.

Highly recommended for exhibiting artists to understand how to light their own work, or anyone interested in joining our volunteer install team. The Lighting Crew* install lights on Wednesdays and Thursdays, working in the afternoon until evening.
*Please note that ladder use is essential for this position.
