G21 is calling for a $500,000 State Government investment to progress the next stage of the Sustainable Water Network.
The proposed feasibility study would investigate how recycled water from Black Rock and surplus stormwater from the Torquay growth area could be put to productive use across our region, rather than being discharged to Bass Strait.
For local businesses like Big River Turf, where G21 councillors visited this morning, access to recycled water is already providing another valuable water source.
A broader network could support more businesses across our region and also enable us to explore opportunities to help stabilise water levels in Lake Modewarre and Lake Colac.
It’s a practical idea with the potential to deliver long-term benefits across our region.
