💙 CHOICES THAT MATTER

Our Year 12 students welcomed Melissa McGuiness from the You Choose Programs for the third year in a row.

Melissa shared her story and spoke with students about making thoughtful choices, understanding the risks we take and looking out for one another. As the Class of 2026 approaches the end of school, it was a timely reminder that our choices can affect not only us, but the people around us too.

Thank you, Melissa, for returning to Ripley Valley State Secondary College and sharing such an important message with our students.

🛠️ 𝐓𝐑𝐘 𝐀 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐃𝐄 𝐃𝐀𝐘 | 𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐒 𝐎𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆

A big thank you to Construction Skills Queensland - CSQ for joining our students for our annual Try a Trade Day!

Students had the opportunity to get hands on and experience a range of practical activities, including excavation, operating a scissor lift, levelling and steel fixing. The day gave students a valuable insight into different trade pathways and the skills involved in the construction industry.

Students also heard from Llewellyn Motors, helping them explore their options and consider preferred pathways as they move into senior schooling and future training programs.

A special congratulations to Jordan and Josie, whose hard work and effort throughout the day were also recognised. Jordan received a $650 voucher to put towards future training with CSTC, while Josie was awarded a $300 voucher. 👏

Thank you to everyone involved for giving our students such a valuable opportunity to learn, try something new and start thinking about where their future could take them.
