🍎🌟 HAPPY WORLD TEACHERS’ DAY! 🌟🍎

Today, we proudly celebrate the extraordinary teachers who make Kurrajong Public School such a special place to learn, grow and belong.

Our teachers do far more than deliver lessons. They inspire curiosity, nurture confidence, recognise potential and encourage every child to keep trying. Behind every learning experience are countless hours of planning, preparation, reflection and careβ€”all driven by a genuine commitment to helping our students thrive.

Thank you for the patience, creativity, encouragement and energy you bring each day. Thank you for celebrating every success, supporting students through challenges and creating classrooms where children feel known, valued and capable.

We are incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated and passionate team shaping the lives of our students. Todayβ€”and every dayβ€”we are so proud of our Kurrajong teachers! πŸ‘πŸ©΅

Thank you to our wonderful P&C who generously provided icy cold fresh juices for our staff today! πŸ₯°

🎀🌟 HAWKESBURY PUBLIC SPEAKING 🌟🎀

We are incredibly proud of the 16 students who volunteered to participate in the Hawkesbury Public Speaking Competition!

Following our school competition, Hannah and Louis were selected to represent Stage 2, while Eve and Suzie represented Stage 3 in the semifinals at Londonderry Public School last week.

A special congratulations to Louis, who was then selected as one of only nine students to compete in the grand final at Freemans Reach Public School yesterdayβ€”an outstanding achievement! πŸ‘ 🌟 πŸ‘πŸΌ

Public speaking requires courage, careful preparation and the ability to organise and communicate ideas with clarity. Students must use expression, pace, projection and eye contact while managing their nerves and engaging an audience. These valuable skills build confidence and support success well beyond the competition.

Congratulations to every student who stepped forward, challenged themselves and moved beyond their comfort zone to embrace this wonderful opportunity. Each participant should feel enormously proud. πŸ₯°

Thank you to Freemans Reach Public School for coordinating this valuable initiative and providing students across the Hawkesbury.

πŸŽ€ πŸ’— PINK RIBBON BREAKFAST πŸ’— πŸŽ€

Our community spirit shone brightly once again today as more than 130 guests joined us for Kurrajong Public School’s first ever Pink Ribbon Breakfast! πŸ’• πŸŽ€

Levi, Maddy, Suzie, Issy, Isla and Mr Cormack beautifully decorated the space, while our entire SRC demonstrated service leadership at its finest. They gave up their time to create breakfast packs yesterday, prepare fresh bacon and egg muffins this morning and warmly serve our guests throughout the event. We could not be prouder of them all! πŸ₯° πŸ₯Ή

Our SRC chose to support Hawkesbury Pink Finss, an incredible local charity that provides vital emotional, practical and financial assistance to people facing cancer, including our own beautiful Kurrajong PS families, past and present. πŸ’•

We are beyond proud to announce that our school will donate an astounding $2,385 to Pink Finss following this one event! 🌟 πŸŽ‰ 🌟 πŸŽ‰ 🌟

This was raised through the sale of breakfast packs, pink ribbons, raffle tickets, mufti donations and generous family contributions. Our school proudly donated all food served today, ensuring every dollar raised goes directly to Pink Finss.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Weekes and Tuckwell families, who won our sensational Thermomix prizes, generously donated by local consultant Linda Bertuccio! πŸ‘πŸΌ πŸ‘πŸΌ πŸ‘πŸΌ

Thank you to our SRC, staff and everyone who attended, donated or helped make this event so special. A special thank you to Mr Oram and our wonderful school band for allowing us to encroach on their rehearsal space so we could beat the wet weather. πŸ₯°

This, is Kurrajong. A small but mighty school with an enormous heart and a community spirit of which we can all be incredibly proud. 🩷🌊

🧠🌟 RISING TO THE G.A.T.E.WAYS CHALLENGE! 🌟🧠

Over the past two days, 16 talented students from Years 3–6 proudly represented our school in the national G.A.T.E.WAYS Challenge!

Working in teams of four, students rotated through a series of challenging scenarios designed to develop teamwork, creativity, lateral thinking and problem-solving skills. Throughout last term, they worked hard to strengthen these skills in preparation for the competitionβ€”and we are incredibly proud of the way they embraced every challenge. πŸ₯°

The event was hosted by world-renowned author and illustrator Martin Chatterton, alongside his lovely wife, Annie. We are incredibly grateful to them both for making the experience so engaging and memorable.

The students’ completed challenges will now be marked in Victoria as we eagerly await the results and the announcement of the national champions! πŸ†

It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to extend themselves academically, collaborate with others and think outside the box. It was even more special to welcome and host teams from other participating schools.

A huge thank you to Mrs Bates for her time and dedication in preparing our students for this exciting experience. πŸ‘ 🌟 πŸ‘πŸΌ

πŸ“šπŸŒŸ WE ARE HOOKED ON HOMEWORK!πŸŒŸπŸ“š

Today, we proudly celebrated more than 120 students who consistently completed their homework each week throughout the term!

Homework helps students develop valuable lifelong habits including persisting with challenging tasks, working independently and meeting timeframes. These skills provide a strong foundation for successfully managing the increasing expectations of high school and beyond.

We are incredibly proud of the commitment, positive attitudes and persistence demonstrated by these students. What a wonderful achievement! πŸ‘πŸ©΅ 🌟

A special thank you to our school leaders Levi, Suzie, Maddy and Issy for seamlessly preparing the snacks and gift bags for today’s celebration. Your organisation and leadership are always greatly appreciated! 🎁🌟

❀️πŸͺ’ JUMP OFF DAY! πŸͺ’❀️

What an incredible way to celebrate the culmination of our SRC’s chosen charity, The Heart Foundation, through the exciting fundraiser Jump Rope for Heart! ❀️

Our SRC proudly stepped into the role of the Jump Off Crew, looking fantastic in their special crew T-shirts. Each SRC representative led a small group through the activities and was absolutely outstanding! Their organisation, confidence and leadership helped make the day a tremendous success. 🌟

Four students from each group were selected to receive a special heart-shaped gem in recognition of the effort, enthusiasm and sportsmanship they demonstrated throughout the activities.

We set an ambitious fundraising goal of $1,000β€”and completely surpassed it by raising an AMAZING $2,935 for the Heart Foundation! πŸŽ‰

We also set a target of logging 10 hours of skipping, but our students flew past that goal and recorded an incredible 58 HOURS!

What an extraordinary achievement! πŸ‘β€οΈ

We could not be prouder of every single student who participated, fundraised, practised and embraced today’s celebration with such enthusiasm. 🩡

A huge thank you to Mrs Tonkin and Mr Leddicoat for teaching skipping throughout the term, ensuring every student had the skills and confidence to participate in and enjoy this wonderful SRC fundraising event.

What a fantastic day our students had competing in the Todd Woodbridge Cup!

We were incredibly proud of the exceptional behaviour and sportsmanship displayed by our students throughout the day. They encouraged one another, treated their opponents with respect and represented Kurrajong Public School beautifully. 🌟 🌟 🌟

To top it all off, 8 of our students were selected for various awards based on skill, effort, improvement and sportsmanship. πŸ‘πŸΌ πŸ₯° πŸ‘πŸΌ

A special thank you to Mrs Wood, Mrs Weekes and Mrs Collier for supporting our students and helping to make this opportunity possible. πŸ₯°

πŸ’‘πŸ† ROTARY PITCH FOR PURPOSE GRAND FINAL πŸ†πŸŒ

To say we are proud of our Year 6 grand finalists is an absolute understatement!

Today, not one, but TWO Kurrajong teams presented at the Rotary Pitch for Purpose Grand Finals at Western Sydney University’s Parramatta Campus. In recent weeks, these students have worked tirelessly through recess and lunch breaks to refine their concepts, develop their pitches and create supporting posters and props. Their commitment and dedication have been extraordinary.

Our Cheeseburger team β€” Micah, Levi, Lucas and Koby β€” developed an innovative bushfire solution to help protect communities and ecosystems. Their concept involved installing mini rainwater collection systems along the Great Western Highway, creating accessible water sources with the inclusion of solar pumps to support responses to fires before they reach urban areas.

Our Sprinkles team β€” Suzie, Isla, Maddy and Issy β€” aimed to educate consumers about their purchasing power and encourage businesses to reduce plastic packaging, including individually wrapped snacks and shipping materials such as bubble wrap. Among eight primary school teams, the Sprinkles team placed FIRST! πŸ₯‡ πŸ‘πŸΌ

Two incredibly creative, student-developed ideas presented with confidence. What an unforgettable experience! 🌟

Thank you to Rotary for providing such a wonderful opportunity for our students to engage in meaningful, real-world problem-solving. It was so lovely to have Rotarians from the North Kurrajong and Richmond chapters visit our students to show their support.

A HUGE thank you to our wonderful parents for their ongoing support β€” and for the very early start required in order to arrive in Parramatta by 8:00am. We are beyond grateful. πŸ₯°

Congratulations to all eight students. Your creativity, teamwork and determination have made our entire school community incredibly proud! πŸ©΅πŸ‘ πŸ’™

Throughout the day, they displayed tremendous strength, determination and resilience. Most importantly, they demonstrated incredible sportsmanship; encouraging one another, respecting their opponents and giving their very best in every game.

We are extremely proud of the way our students competed and represented our school! πŸ’™ 🌟 πŸ’™
