What a treat that was ~ world-class bluegrass right here in town.

A big thank you to Kyogle Progress Association for bringing high-quality musicians from the USA and New Zealand to Kyogle, giving us the opportunity to experience exceptional live music without travelling far from home.

International musicians like this do more than just entertain.

They bring communities together, enrich our cultural life, and give us another reason to love where we live.

So good 😊

A bit of Bluegrass magic at the KMI Hall!

Seth Mulder and Midnight Run brought world-class bluegrass, incredible musicianship and plenty of energy to Kyogle! 🎻🪕

What a treat to have such outstanding live music right here in our community. A fantastic night of music and community spirit! 👏🎶

So, what’s happening outside the Council building? 🤔 Good question…

Work has commenced on the ‘Civic Heart’ project, transforming the space between the Library, Council Chambers and Museum into a more welcoming and connected civic precinct.

🌿 Stage 1 will introduce new pedestrian pathways, landscaped gardens, seating and a performance stage ~ creating spaces for people to meet, gather and enjoy.

Accessibility improvements will also help make the area more welcoming for everyone.

I’m thrilled to finally see this project taking shape. It’s been on the drawing board for some time, and while there will inevitably be some inconvenience during construction ~ sense the wait will be worthwhile!

As my dear Grandma would say ~ to make an omelette, you first have to break and scramble a few eggs! 🤣

Here’s hoping for some sunshine ☀️

📣 Stay tuned for updates as the ‘Civic Heart’ takes shape!

If you went down to the KMI Hall today, you were in for a big surprise! 🧸

What a wonderful morning of smiles, laughter and community spirit at Kyogle Teddy Bears’ Picnic ~ all part of Children’s Week celebrations!

Despite wet weather bringing the ‘picnic’ indoors, there was plenty of fun, creativity and excitement for little ones and those young at heart. 😊

A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in organising the event, from the wonderful activity provides Jurassic Joe, Leanne Murner and the Kyogle Library team, to all those behind the scenes who made the morning such a success.

And, of course, thank you to the families who came along with their little ones and favourite teddy bears! 🧸

Community activities like these are so important. They bring families together, create opportunities for children to play and learn, and strengthen the connections that make our Kyogle community such a great place to live.

For me it’s a lovely reminder that sometimes the simplest things ~ a teddy bear, a little imagination ~ create the happiest memories.

So good 😊

Kyogle was buzzing today, with plenty happening from the Stratheden Street Markets to Roxy Gallery ~ even finding a car park was a challenge! 😊

Amid all the activity, I thoroughly enjoyed local author Amie Weekes in conversation with ABC Radio’s Bridie Tanner, hosted by Kyogle Readers and Writers, as they explored Amie’s book ‘Anxiety Is a Bitch and So Are Lunch Boxes’.

With honesty and humour, Amie’s nickname for anxiety, “Nancy”, makes a relatable topic feel a little lighter.

Her reflections on lunch boxes remind us how easily we place expectations and pressure on ourselves to get everything just perfect.

💚 During Mental Health Awareness Month, Amie’s message, ‘Be curious, not judgemental’ is a timely reminder to be kinder to ourselves and others, approach anxiety with greater understanding, and ease the pressure to have everything figured out.

Thank you to Kyogle Readers and Writers, Amie and Bridie for such an engaging and thought-provoking conversation.

📚 If you’re looking for a read that blends honesty, humour and plenty of relatable moments, I encourage you to check out Amie’s book. 💚

🪵 Works in Wood ~ A Conversation with Master Craftsman ~ Garan Hale

It was a pleasure to join Garan Hale for an ‘In Conversation’ session at the Roxy Gallery in Kyogle, celebrating the skill, the patience, the passion behind his remarkable woodworking.

Garan is a true master craftsman right here in our own backyard. His exhibition, Works In Wood has already welcomed more than 1,000 visitors — a record number for Roxy Gallery! 👏

It’s a wonderful reminder that craftsmanship is about more than the finished piece.

It’s about the journey, the process, the functionality of timber ~ the skill involved in bringing out its natural beauty.

As Garan reminds us, it’s not just the end result, it’s the journey.

💚 Don’t miss out! If you haven’t visited yet, make sure you experience this must-see exhibition and support the incredible creatives we have right here in Kyogle.

📍 Roxy Gallery, Kyogle
📅 Exhibition closes 8 November

Congratulations to Garan and the Roxy Gallery team on an outstanding exhibition and a record-breaking response from our community! Wow 🤩
