❤️ Day for Daniel at Sunbury ❤️

Today, our students and staff proudly wore red for Day for Daniel to help raise awareness about child safety.

Thank you to everyone who joined in and helped mark this important day. It was wonderful to see Sunbury students showing their support and taking part in a message that matters so much - keeping children safe.

Day for Daniel is a reminder for all of us to keep having important conversations with children about safety, support and speaking up. Every child deserves to feel safe, heard and protected.

Thank you to our families for supporting the day, whether by wearing red, making a donation or simply helping us spread awareness.

Well done, Sunbury, for coming together so thoughtfully and respectfully. ❤️

💙 Happy World Teachers’ Day, Sunbury! 💙

Today we celebrate the incredible teachers who give so much of themselves to support, encourage and inspire our students every day.

At Sunbury, we know teaching is never a solo act. We are so grateful to the wonderful teacher aides, support staff and students who helped make today so special with handmade cards, thoughtful messages and little gift bags filled with treats, including some very appreciated homemade fudge! 🍬

These small acts of kindness meant a great deal and were a lovely reminder of the caring community we have here at Sunbury.

To our teachers, thank you for all that you do, both in and beyond the classroom. Your care, patience, encouragement and hard work help shape our school every single day.

And to everyone who helped make today special, thank you for showing such genuine appreciation.

💙🍩☕ A LITTLE EARLY WORLD TEACHERS’ DAY LOVE ☕🍩💙

With World Teachers’ Day tomorrow, our staff have already been feeling very appreciated.

A huge thank you to the Shipp family, with support from Coffee Tribe, for treating our staff to complimentary drinks and cookies today. It was such a thoughtful gesture and very much appreciated. ☕💙

And another big thank you to Kirsty, our P&C President, who dropped off fresh donuts for the whole staff this morning. 🍩

It’s been a lovely reminder of how supported our teachers and staff are by the wider Sunbury community.

World Teachers’ Day is tomorrow, Friday 30 October, and we’re looking forward to taking a moment to recognise the care, commitment and work our teachers put into our students every day.

Thank you to everyone who has already helped make them feel valued. 💙

⛈️💙 WHAT AN AFTERNOON AT SUNBURY! 💙⛈️

That storm certainly made its presence known today!

It was intense, loud and over almost as quickly as it arrived, with the sun breaking through again barely 15 minutes later. ☀️

We’re very proud of how calmly and sensibly our students responded. They followed staff directions, stayed on the paths when moving around the school and remained safely in their classrooms for second break while the storm passed.

A big thank you to our staff for keeping everyone safe, settled and reassured throughout it all.

Well done, Sunbury. Another great example of our students putting Safety and Responsibility into action. 💙

With the possibility of more storms this afternoon, please take care on the way home and stay safe.

❤️ DAY FOR DANIEL - FRIDAY 30 OCTOBER ❤️

This Friday, Sunbury will recognise Day for Daniel, Australia’s national day of action for child safety awareness.

Students and staff are encouraged to wear red to show their support and help start important conversations around child safety.

If families would like to contribute, students are welcome to bring a gold coin donation on the day. Any donation is appreciated.

The focus of Day for Daniel is awareness, education and helping children build the confidence to recognise, react and report when something doesn’t feel right.

It’s a valuable opportunity for us to continue age-appropriate conversations about safety, speaking up and looking out for one another.

Helping Hands Sunbury is inviting families and community members to join them for a special Children’s Week celebration, “Our Rights, Our Voices.”

Another busy week is underway, with plenty happening across the school.

📣 A little celebration from last week
Our second Friday morning parade in the new format ran beautifully, with Mrs Fletcher and her class doing a fantastic job leading the morning.

We’ve also had some very positive recognition of the work happening through our PBL team, with Sunbury’s work being noticed and celebrated beyond our own school. That’s something our whole community can be proud of. 💙

It’s another full week of learning, activities and community at Sunbury. Let’s make it a great one.

🐨💙 KOALAS STARTS TOMORROW! 💙🐨

A quick reminder for our 2027 Prep families that the first KOALAS transition session is on tomorrow.

📍 Prep Classroom

KOALAS is our free, teacher-directed transition program designed to help children become familiar with “big school” and feel more confident and prepared for Prep next year.

Please remember to bring a hat and water bottle.

We’re looking forward to welcoming our newest little Sunbury learners and their families. 🐨✨

🌈💙 WHAT A WAY TO START TERM 4, SUNBURY! 💙🌈

A huge congratulations to everyone who helped make our Colour Fun Run such a success!

Together, our school community raised more than $2,500 for the P&C, and we had a fantastic turnout of families there to cheer students on.
A special congratulations to 2C, who just edged out 1L as our top fundraising class and earned the very important honour of getting to slime the teachers! 😆🟢

A big thank you to Gabby for organising and promoting the event, Heath for the set-up and pack-up, our Year 6 leaders for helping with music and logistics, Karen for supporting Prep so Gabby could coordinate, Mrs T for capturing the day, and Helping Hands for donating the Zooper Doopers.

We also loved seeing our staff make sure every student could be part of the fun, including organising white shirts where needed. That’s Sunbury spirit. 💙

And Term 4 is only just getting started!

There is still so much to look forward to over the coming weeks:

There is still a lot of learning, celebrating and memory-making ahead.

Term 4 is always a special one at Sunbury, and we’re looking forward to sharing all of it with our students, families and wider school community.
