The Visitor Centre the retail arm of Mountain country tourism is a hub for the area. Open daily 9am - 1pm, Saturday & Sunday 10am - 2pm.

Hours may vary due to weather or influx of volunteers ready to share the voyage. Welcome to the Mount Barker Visitor Centre - home of the premier visitor information service in the Shire of Plantagenet. Along with our unique, locally sourced “Taste of Mt Barker” Gift Shop, we aim to promote and support tourism in the Great Southern Region

Open 7 days a week, the Mount Barker Visitor Centre is a fully accredited Local Tourism Organisation (LTO), run by Mount Barker Tourism Incorporated and supported by the Shire of Plantagenet. Open weekdays 9am - 4pm and weekends / public holidays 10am - 3pm

Tomorrow the Mount Barker Visitor Centre hosts our second Railway Markets.
Please come down and join us from 10am until 2pm.
All market goers are asked to utilise the existing parking bays over the railway line at the Shire of Plantagenet (near the toilets) or alternatively parking at The Plantagenet District Hall and then stroll on over.
This is to keep the traffic along the Albany Highway flowing.
We have some great stall holders for you to check out, including Moovinbrew, Earth 2 Plate Produce, Wicked Imp Studio, Wyld Hallow Designs, Being 1 With Frequency, The Gourmet Bee, Cafe Swift, Astrid Mae Candles and more.
There is a sausage sizzle on offer and the Visitor Centre will be open as well.

We never promised to a Rose Garden but we do hope to have our produce and Artisan markets the last Saturday of the month. It's not too late to get a stall happening. Email [email protected] to get the forms. For the rest of you see you there. (Please note disabled parking on site only at the request of the Shire)

If you entered a door for the festival you can now collect them from the Mount Barker Visitor Centre during open hours.

Well Septembers' inaugural markets had a baptism of rain and wind. Thank you to all that pushed through and set up a stall or attended and gave patronage to our Vendors. Despite the weather we had a very good turn out. Please pencil in the date for October 31st. EOI's are being accepted for anyone who would like to set up a stall. email [email protected] . Hope to see you there. (Please note the Shire has asked us not to have patron parking on site so unless you have an Acrod sticker or are using the EV chargers or RV facilities, please park elsewhere.)

Join us for the Fantasy Door Festival Fun Day!
Saturday 17th October
10am until 1.00pm
Free for families of people participating in the door festival.
Bouncy castle, face painting, crafts, cake decorating, sausage sizzle, Jamie the clowns balloon animals.
Coffee van onsite too.

In the meantime, make sure you take a walk along the Fantasy Door Trail and vote for your favourites. Forms at IGA foyer.

The weather is not on our side but we press on. Many thanks to the hardy souls who turned up to support us. We are grateful to the vendors and patrons. Come on down and grab a bite to eat from our food and coffee vans. Here till 2.00.
