💻💻The future is bright for our Follow the Dream students!

Last week some of our Follow the Dream students were thrilled to receive repurposed laptops thanks to the generosity of Bankwest. Students also had the opportunity to hear from five Bankwest team members, who shared their unique career journeys, experiences and insights into the different pathways that have shaped their careers.

Opportunities like these encourage students to explore the many possibilities available to them, while building confidence, inspiration and a greater understanding of the opportunities ahead.

Looking forward to seeing these students take the next step towards their future.

Happy World Teachers’ Day! 🍎✨

This year, we chose to celebrate with a whole-staff appreciation breakfast, recognising that every member of our school community plays an important part in supporting student success.

While today is an opportunity to shine a spotlight on our teachers and the remarkable work they do in educating, inspiring, and guiding young people, we also acknowledge that it takes a team effort to create a thriving school environment.

To our teachers, thank you for your dedication, care, and commitment to shaping the future. We are grateful for everything you do.

🧵🪡We're proud to celebrate Year 10 student Josephine B, who recently participated in the Stitch for Froktober Competition

Competing in the 'Made from Scratch' category, Josephine created a garment using a repurposed bed sheet as her main fabric, demonstrating both excellent sewing skills and a thoughtful approach to sustainability.

Josephine was recognised as one of the youngest entrants in the competition and received encouragement to continue developing her passion for sewing. Her attention to detail and high-quality technical finishes are a credit to her hard work and dedication.

Congratulations, Josephine, on this fantastic achievement, we can't wait to see where your talent takes you next! 🎉

🎭 Mirror, Mirror on the Stage 🎭

Congratulations to our Year 11 and 12 Drama students who recently took to the stage for their performance of Snow White and the Dreadful Dwarfs, with some special guest appearances from talented Year 10 students.

The cast entertained the audience with their enthusiasm, creativity and teamwork, and it was wonderful to see just how much the students have grown since last year's performances. Their confidence and commitment shone through in every scene.

UWA Pathway Programs for Year 12 students in 2027 to complete while still at school.

Thank you to James from The University of Western Australia (UWA) for visiting Eastern Hills Senior High School on Tuesday to speak with our interested Year 11 students about the exciting UWA Pathway Programs available during Year 12 in 2027.

These programs allow eligible students to attend UWA one day per week while completing their final year of school, helping them gain valuable university experience and prepare for future study. Students also gain the equivalent of a 70 ATAR upon completion of the program. All pathway programs are free.

The following pathway options are available.
🔬 UWA Catalyst – STEM Pathway Program for students interested in science and technology
🏥 UWA Thrive – Health and Nursing Pathway Program for aspiring healthcare professionals
📚 UWA Headway – University Pathway Program supporting entry into a wide range of degrees including arts, business, education, communications and more
🖤💛❤️ UWA Bilya Bidi – Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Pathway Program providing a culturally safe and supportive pathway to university study

Year 11 students who are interested in the UWA Pathways Programs for 2027 are asked to express their interest with Ms Edward's in the Career Centre before the end of Week 4 of Term 4.

📐❤️🐋📦 Symmetry in action!

Our Year 7 students recently combined maths and creativity as they explored the concept of symmetry through origami.

Using careful folds and keen attention to detail, students transformed simple sheets of paper into hearts, whales and mini gift boxes while developing their understanding of symmetrical shapes and patterns. The hands-on activity encouraged problem-solving, spatial thinking and plenty of creativity along the way.

It was wonderful to see students having fun while discovering that maths can be found in unexpected places!

Student Executive Visit Parliament House

During the school holidays, members of the Eastern Hills SHS Student Executive had the privilege of joining our local MLA, Adam Hort, for lunch and a special tour of Parliament House.

This longstanding school tradition provides an opportunity for our student leaders to reflect on their time representing the student body as they conclude their service and celebrate the contributions they have made to our school community.

Students enjoyed valuable conversations about leadership, public service and the role of elected representatives in our community, while gaining a firsthand insight into the workings of Western Australia's Parliament.

We thank Adam Hort MLA for hosting our Student Executive and for supporting this meaningful tradition. Experiences like these help inspire the next generation of leaders and provide our students with a deeper understanding of civic engagement.

Congratulations to our Student Executive on their outstanding leadership and service to the Eastern Hills SHS community. We are proud of all you have achieved and wish you every success in your future endeavours.
