Nimbin Neighbourhood and Information Centre NNIC is in the heart of the Nimbin Community. NNIC is run by locals for the local community.

We are a community based organisation which provides a wide range of services to disadvantaged people (and others) in the Nimbin community. We are a one-stop-shop for all your welfare service needs, and we run on a drop-in basis. Which means anyone can drop in and see us during our opening hours, and usually you can get an appointment to see our welfare workers on the same day.

We have decided to extend our raffle, which will now be drawn December 1st.

You can win a coffee machine & 50 serves of coffee to go along with it OR the mystery hamper!

We literally don’t know what’s in the hamper as it was kindly donated by the CEO of Local Hearts , but we have it on good authority that it’s full of cool things for the whole family. We’ve had a sticky beak and there’s lego, books and a crochet blanket among a myriad of other cute bits and pieces.

Come buy some tickets and support the org that supports your community

Well this weather is a timely reminder to get our personal disaster/emergency plans together. AND coming up on 15th November a big community UHF Radio Day. Come along and find out about radios, play with radios and find out how to get help in an emergency when normal communication networks are all down (as we experienced in 2022). We promise it will be a fun and family-friendly day.

Small to medium neighbourhood centres everywhere are really starting to struggle and NNIC is not immune. Some of them have even given up trying to survive and have closed their doors altogether. Imagine Nimbin without NNIC? The expectation is that we will deliver complex and high quality services to people who are often very vulnerable but funding does not include the costs of actually opening the doors - i.e. the rent, the bills, the management costs. We are asking for core funding - funds to enable us to open the doors so we can actually provide services for our community.

A campaign has commenced. Please sign our petition.

Love from NNIC.

Every week, an estimated 72,000 people walk through the doors of a Neighbourhood and Community Centre somewhere in NSW. These 175 centres are the largest community-led social infrastructure network in the state — and yet the NSW Government provides no ongoing, dedicated funding for the work that m...

Congratulations, Viola on winning our July raffle! Thanks to all who bought a ticket, we are so grateful.

We’ll be moving onto a different fundraising strategy, something that one of our amazing service users suggested! Watch this space.
