✅ Top 3 Ways to Prepare Your House:

1️⃣ Check Your Roof and Gutters

✔️ Check drains are not blocked

2️⃣ Trim Trees & Secure Loose Items

✔️ Tie down or store outdoor furniture, toys, tools, and trampolines
✔️ Clean up the yard — loose items can become dangerous in strong winds

A cold front is expected to bring widespread thunderstorms to the Central West, Riverina, and South West Slopes from today through to Sunday, before moving northeast early next week.

Thunderstorms could bring damaging winds, large hail, and heavy rainfall. River rises are also possible across the Murrumbidgee, Tumut, Lachlan Rivers and Upper Murray catchment.

🔹Park vehicles undercover or away from trees where possible.
🔸Clean gutters and drains to improve water flow around homes.

A conversation could change a life.

Today is R U OK? Day, a reminder that we don't need to be experts to make a difference. By taking the time to check in with a friend, colleague, family member or fellow volunteer, we can help someone feel seen, heard and supported.

If someone's been on your mind, trust your instincts and ask the question:

💛 R U OK?

Remember to:
✔️ Ask
✔️ Listen
✔️ Encourage action
✔️ Check in

Because meaningful conversations can happen any day of the year.

We're in for a wet start to the week with severe thunderstorms possible ⛈️
For inland NSW and the ranges, localised heavy rainfall, flash flooding, damaging winds and large hail are all possible Tuesday before shifting along the northern coast and ranges. Conditions are expected to settle late Wednesday or Thursday.

⚠️ A minor flood warning has been issued for Tumut River due to rainfall forecast from late Monday night into Tuesday.
⚠️ A minor flood warning is also current for the Murray River at Barham.

The NSW SES advises:
🏡Prepare your property now ahead of the storm. Secure loose items that can be blown away in strong winds. Clean your gutters and downpipes to avoid blockages. Fix any broken tiles or damage to your roof. Move your car away from under trees.
🚗 Steer clear of floodwater. If you come across a flooded road, turn around and find an alternative route. Flash flooding can be dangerous and unpredictable. Stay vigilant.
📲 Stay across warnings using the Hazards Near Me app or head to the NSW SES website.
