Congratulations to the Kentish Lions Club!
Sheffield School are appreciative of the endless support provided to our school.

Today Bell Bay Aluminium awarded more than $52,000 to 19 incredible community organisations across Tasmania through our 2026 Community Grants Program!

Community groups and their volunteers are the backbone of towns right across our state. This year’s funding will support a wide range of inspiring local projects - from school resilience workshops and essential equipment purchases to infrastructure upgrades that keep our communities connected and thriving.

Earlier today, recipients gathered at the George Town Golf Club for a celebratory morning tea to mark the occasion.

A huge congratulations to all 19 successful recipients, and a big thank you to our independent employee assessment panel for selecting this year's grant winners from such a strong field of applicants.

Thank you for everything you do to make Tasmania stronger, more connected, and more resilient!

If you have a child born in 2022 and live in the Kentish area, we are looking forward to meeting you as we prepare for Kindergarten 2027!

Please see the following dates and times for our 2027 Kindergarten Information Sessions.

We invite families to attend one of our Kindergarten Information Sessions. These sessions will provide an overview of what to expect as your child begins their Kindergarten year, including classroom routines, school procedures, uniform requirements, and the transition to school.

Both sessions will cover the same information and provide an opportunity for families to ask questions and learn more about how we can work together to ensure your child has a happy, confident, and successful start to school.

Children are welcome to come along and will be supervised in the Launching into Learning space by the LIL teacher and Teacher Assistant.

Please reach out if you have any questions.

Kinetic bus changes for this afternoon (Wednesday 22 October)
Unfortunately, this afternoon (22/10/2026) we are forced to combine two school bus runs together in Sheffield due to driver availability.

We understand this is less than ideal and apologise for the inconvenience, although due to extenuating circumstances this is the only solution for today unfortunately.

Please see the below for information on the combination:

PM COMBINATION: Staverton and Gowrie Park – Bus R89 – PM ONLY
Bus R89 will collect all students from Sheffield school for both Gowrie Park and Staverton.
All students for Gowrie Park will be dropped off as normal at regular times.
Once this run is complete, the bus will continue along Claude Road until it turns into Cethana Road and then turn Right onto Staverton Road and complete Staverton school run in the reverse order.
The Staverton students will be dropped off later than usual.

The reverse order for Staverton is the same direction that the morning run travels, and all stops will be at the same locations as the morning collection.
We have confirmed with the driver that this is possible and that it is safe to do so.
