This Men's Health Week, we're encouraging men of all ages to prioritise their physical health, mental wellbeing and social connections. 👏
For local resident Dr Gary Shiels AM, healthy ageing is about staying active, maintaining strong community ties and challenging assumptions about what's possible later in life.
At 80, the member and former President of North Bondi SLSC still competes at national surf lifesaving championships and leads a community fitness group he's run for more than 30 years. 🏄
His message is simple - staying connected, active and involved can help us live healthier, more fulfilling lives at every age.

This Refugee Week, we celebrate A Million Stories - honouring the courage, resilience and contributions of the more than one million refugees who have helped shape Australia. ✨
In Waverley, stories of refuge and belonging are part of who we are - from Bondi Beach to our local community spaces, these stories remind us that behind every statistic is a person, a journey, and a place to call home.
This Thursday 18 June, join Delphine at Waverley Library as she delves into her resilient story of surviving conflict and displacement in Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Brought to you by Waverley Library and Waverley Community Programs, and presented by the Refugee Council of Australia.
