This World Teachers’ Day, we’re shining a light on Australia’s teachers.

Every day, teachers inspire, support and empower young people. They create lightbulb moments, nurture curiosity, build confidence and help students discover their strengths.

This year, students from Independent schools across NSW captured that impact through our Transforming tomorrow, today art competition.

The winning artworks are now available as downloadable cards and media tiles, helping school communities celebrate their teachers and say thank you for making a difference. Explore the art works via the link in our bio.

Keynotes from Sue Rosen and Vince Ford brought fresh perspectives on leading with confidence and clarity, and using storytelling to engage, unite and influence.

Thank you to our speakers, exhibitors and everyone who joined us for two days of learning, connection and valuable conversations.

Independent Schools NSW, Catholic Schools NSW, NSW Department of Education and TAFE NSW have come together for a two-day Aboriginal Student Voice Symposium, bringing together students in Years 5–12 from across NSW to strengthen Aboriginal student voice, leadership and cultural connection.

Today kicked off with yarning circles with Independent Schools NSW Chief Executive Margery Evans and other sector executives, centred on deep listening to student voice. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from Knox Grammar School St Andrew's Cathedral School and Abbotsleigh joined students from across NSW to share their experiences and help shape initiatives that strengthen belonging, wellbeing and educational outcomes.

Developed through the Full Potential Learning Working Group under the NSW Government’s Education and Economic Prosperity Sector Committee, the symposium uses cultural learning and co-design to elevate student voice and agency, with participation from urban, rural, regional and remote communities.
